We stayed at the Hyatt over the July 4th weekend, as we experienced the "Red White and Boom" fireworks spectacle. Not only did we get a great price on Priceline, but we were we within walking distance to everything downtown. Plus, being right across the street from the Captiol Building was a really nice bonus, and on weekends, parking is essentially free.
The rooms themselves were really quite large, and for whatever reason it felt like we were staying in an apartment more than a hotel, even though it wasn't a suite. The rooms were very long and covered end to end in windows which made for spectacular views, and made the room seem much bigger. Nice bathrooms, comfortable bed, etc. Just an over all great experience.
My only complaint would be that they charged for internet access both in the rooms and the lobby.

Traveled to Columbus, OH on business and stayed at the Hyatt on Capitol Square.
It was a great location, immediately across from the Capitol. It's a short 12 minute walk to the federal courthouse.
Overall, the room was clean, though dated looking. The room was incredibly average and had a musty smell. Surprisingly, the bad was comfortable and I had a nice sleep. On the downside, there was no in-room safe and no mini-bar.
The bathroom was nicer than I would have expected based upon the appearance of the guest room.
I have traveled extensively and can say with great confidence that this hotel is not worth the cost of the average price/room (we paid $178/room). If you can manage to find a much lower rate, then it's probably a fine decision if you need to be in downtown Columbus.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Hyatt on Capitol Square over the Fourth of July weekend and would highly recommend this hotel.
Our rate was about $110/night. Had a special deal where valet parking was free. We had a King Room. We did not have a view of the Capitol Square, but if this is important to you, I'm sure that you could request it.
Check-in was smooth, valet service was prompt, friendly and professional. Has a very good first impression upon arrival. The hotel is in a nice part of downtown, although, this was my first trip there. Seemed like a more upscale area.
The room was very clean, well-appointed and oversized. Had a very nice bathroom, roomy with special "Portico" soaps. Only had a few towels, which is understandable with environmental concerns, but if you like alot of towels, you may be calling down to the front desk.
We had a corner room, with a huge window, so the tv was all the way across the room, not a big deal, but slightly awkward.
The bed was more than heavenly, we took notes on the sheet configuration to copy it at home. Must have been 8 pillows on the bed. Love it! Shower was divine, with a special shower head attachment/filter. Simple, classy understated decor.
Bring your iPod if you want to listen to music -- There are docking stations in the rooms, nice touch!
One down-side, they mention that they have wireless internet, but when I arrived, you hook up to T-mobile where you have to pay for a plan to get online. Was kind of a waste to bring my computer.
However, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

We recently spent one night in the downtown Columbus Hyatt. It was another great Hyatt stay. The room was clean and well maintained, the bathroom was nice and roomy. I had requested a late check-in and when we arrived, the bed was turned down with a robe and chocolates. I paid $85 on hotwire, com and was very pleased with the whole experience.
