Stayed at the GH for 2 weeks on business trip. The hotel has a great entrance, and a very comfortable lobby where you can meet up with ppl and sit down for a chat. Although I was booked into a standard room, it was spacious, with a small walk-in closet, large LCD tv, writing desk, couch, etc. Service was efficient and friendly, room service was also good.
Tried almost all the restaurants, and liked the Manhattan Grill the most. Awtar was fine for Lebanese food (although I prefer Al Nafoorah at Emirates Towers). Peppercrab was good too. Breakfast was not very inspiring, and only complaint is that my coffee always arrived towards the middle of my breakfast, despite repeated reminders at the entrance, before I sat down and after digging in to my breakfast. On the weekend I had room service breakfast, which was cheaper than the buffet (eggs and bacon, toast, coffee), and quite prompt.
One thing you should not miss is the swimming pool, both outdoor (huge) and indoor, jacuzzi, steam sauna etc. I especially loved the cool damp face towels and iced water they provide in the changing room. Unfortunately I only had one weekend there, but I went down to the pool both days.
The GH is located near Wafi City mall, just 10-15 min walk from the hotel. It was a pleasant walk in Feb, but recommend you take the taxi after March. The mall has a food court selling arabian food on the top floor, with many kebabs, salads, sweets etc. which was quite nice. There's also a Chinese restaurant in Wafi Pyramids (where all the restaurants are), but the one you should really try is Indian food - Asha. You may need to make reservations, but the mango lassi is to die for.

Me and my family stayed at Grand Hyatt for 3 nights from may 14 to may 17. I have to say that the hotel is absolutely beautiful. Pools, gardens, lobby, rooms, views, everything. Since I like architecture and design very much, I enjoyed every detail of it. I definitely recommend to visit the hotel, however, I have to mention some problems. First, don't take a room near an elevator. The elevator itself is not a problem, but trolleys used by the staff make loud sound. And they start really early. Another problem was the Market cafe.It was nice, the variety of meals offered was good, but I consider the quality of it to be much lower than the hotel class. It is true, that it was the cheapest option but surely not that cheap. I ate there only twice, but I was also disappointed twice. These were the only problems we experienced during our stay, which was, apart from them, truly exceptional.
