A place where you want to stay

I stood with the Hyatt 24th-27th june for a business conference.
It is indeed a very pleasant place to stay if you dont mind to pay
' a little bit more'. All is like you might expect it to be for a five star hotel. The kitchen is specialized to asian cooking - everything tasted good even I'am not a real fan of the far east cuisine.
A real experiance is the conference room "Bibliothek" with an astonishing view out of a glass wall to the office of foreign affairs and the St. Michael church. Its worth to walk city as the hotel is idealy located for any walkarounds. Kiev itself is some 40 km far from the airport and using a limusine of the hotel is not that much more expensive then a normal taxi. I recommend to have a drink (and food) outside to see more then just the hotel and save some expenses...
All in all is is the place to stay if you are looking for the highest standard - by the way dear Hyatt: is it really necessary to charge an extra fee at your business center for just doing the check in for the next days flight?

The hotel has just met the normal standards of a 5-star hotel. However, the staff is arrogant when i asked for a non-smoking room. Breakfast is too pricey.

The Hyatt Kiev has dethroned the Premier Palace!

After more than a dozen stays at the Premier Palace in rooms ranging from singles to massive suites I got put off by their sometimes arrogant attitude and indifferent service and decided to try the new Hyatt.
Bottom line is I shall be staying at the Hyatt from now on.
This is truly a five star property with happy and helpful staff (not the norm in Ukraine). Their website does not do it justice.
Fantastic rooms/beds (separate shower and bath), great connectivity and business center, really good food (again not the norm), several classy bars, and service like you expect for your money!
Sorry Premier Palace, it was fun while it lasted but there is a new king in town.

I stayed here for one week from 12th until 19th March on business. Top marks for this hotel, it’s excellent, though not having to pay for it is definitely a plus as it is so expensive, somewhere in the region of ?500 a night. We had the basic rooms, which were definitely sufficient. The furniture is very modern, very nice quality and looks even better than the photos on the web-site. The beds are quite firm but comfy, plenty of towels and a nice bathroom with a big showerhead and also one you can take down and use, also a nice big bath. D?cor throughout the hotel is dark wood with beige and it’s all very sleek, modern and well thought out.
The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming and most speak some English, more so on the front desk and you really feel they want your stay to be a happy one. No scouring faces here!
The desk and chair in the room are nice and comfy and you can open the window, it has hi-speed internet and wi-fi which you have to pay for. As usual there aren’t enough ‘bright’ overhead lights especially when you are working but if you’re not, then there isn’t any need to worry if you are on your holidays. I only used the business centre at the weekend for printing and it was fine and is always manned.
Room service was very good on the few occasions that I used it, they give 30 minutes as a guideline but mine came within 15 minutes, even just a simple sandwich is big! Room service breakfast choice is very extensive, they even have Eggs Benedict. In the restaurant they do serve hot food i.e. omelettes, eggs etc. but they don’t provide a menu like other hotels. You have to go up to the chef that’s cooking and order what you want, i.e. eggs, omelette etc and they bring it to your table. There is loads of choice, meats, smoked salmon, fruit, cereal, cooked breakfast and lots of pastries.
For dining there are a few options, the hotel restaurant on the 1st floor is excellent, I ate here on about four occasions and thoroughly enjoyed the food, the service is first class but the downside is it’s expensive. The staff wear nice uniforms reflecting the Asian influence, with a Kimono type top and trousers. The lights are always dimmed at 8.30 p.m.!
The hotel is in an excellent location, though to be honest we hopped in a cab every day and went to the office, but I have been to Kiev previously and seen all the sights from another hotel which was not far from the Hyatt.
In all you just cannot go wrong, I couldn’t find any faults with this hotel, if you can afford it then I would definitely recommend. It also has a really nice swimming pool and they made my stay extremely comfortable.

I returned to the UK today after my eigth consecutive stay in what has become my permanent Kiev home for around a week each month.
The hotel facilities are first class and they have done an exceptional job in recruiting top quality heads of department whose enthusiasm and commitment is reflected throughout their teams.
Special mentions for the Receptionists whose welcome is always warm and helpful, the Concierge group who have over the course of my trips arranged tennis, transport, restaurant bookings and medical supplies, the Fitness Club and Spa girls and all the catering staff, all of whom provide a level of service the other hotels in the city merely aspire to.
The pricing reflects the quality delivered at at somewhere north of ?600 per night for my regular suite I could rent a luxurious apartment in the central area, but I would not have the on tap services provided by one of the truly great city centre hotels.
For me, spending such a long time away from home each month the hotel has managed to deliver the most important ingredients a business traveller needs, top class facilities, great location and a welcoming atmosphere populated by staff who genuinely appear to want to make guests feel comfortable.
The place has changed since those early pre-official opening days in August 2007 when it felt exclusively mine, the hard work and continued exceptional standards of the management and staff and the strength they have given to the Hyatt brand in Kiev has resulted in a very healthy reservations book and the buzz associated with a top class international hotel.
The success is well deserved, if you are going to Kiev on business or pleasure, make the Hyatt your chosen destination, it is my favourite business hotel by a country mile.
