I enjoyed a recent brief stay at the Park Hyatt Mendoza - as part of a 2 day wine tour. The property is quite beautiful with a modern hotel cleverly hidden behind the front facade of an historic old hotel called the "Plaza".
The location of the hotel on Mendoza's main pedestrian shopping area (via the park immediately in the front of the hotel) is perfect for quick walks around town.
The hotel staff - from check-in - to meals- to housekeeping - to car service - to check out - was completely friendly, professional and top notch. The driver of the car that picked us up at the airport was very friendly and knowledgable about Mendoza and gave us a brief history on our ride to the hotel.
The rooms are contemporary with internet access and a good selection of English, Spanish and other tv stations. The rooms are spacious, with a fantastic bathroom setup. The shower "room" including the tub is fantastic. The King bed in my room was comfortable. The view from my room looking over the foothills of the Andes was superb.
I had 2 meals at the hotel's restaurant. A fantastic dinner at the lobby restaurant. The wine list was superb with many, many selections by the glass of the best in local wines. The service at dinner was efficient and friendly and not intrusive - perfect. Breakfast was a buffet and a bit crowded but the staff managed the crowd efficiently - there was no wait for a table. The buffet included freshly made eggs/omelets which were great.
As I travel all over the world for business, I do feel that I know good hotels and good service and the Park Hyatt Mendoza provided one of the best experiences I've had in any hotel in the world. Keep up the good work and I cannot recommend this hotel enough.

First time in Mendoza, and because the connecting flight from Santiago, Chile arrived in the late afternoon, we booked the hotel for two nights. The hotel, as has been pointed out, has a perfect location fronting the big main square. And it is clean, modern--the rooms were once cutting edge, but that edge has been blunted by time--and is an easy walk to lots of interesting restaurants. The front desk was efficient and helpful, though the concierge seemed often flustered. When you check in, every guest/couple is presented with a 20 perso credit to the casino.(I should immediately note that my wife turned this into 75 pesos. She is invariably lucky, I am not.) However, the casino is so choked with cigarette smoke that one can only visit for 5 minutes or so, before rushing out for a breath of air. Actually, you have to rush outside the hotel, because the lobby is often polluted by the smoke that billows out through the casinoi doors which are left open throughout the evening.Oddly, although we were mistakenly given a room on a smoking floor, there was not even a suggestion of cigarette smoke in the halls nor in our room I should note that on the day we left, our driver arrived outside, asked for us, and the front desk indicated we had never checked in. Fortunately, we found him on our own, and proceeded on to Cavas. While you are in Mendoza, you should be sure to visit Arte Y Diseno Nativo, a wonderfully low key craft store run by a woman of taste. And just a couple of blocks away. The prices were considerably lower than in BA for similar articles. Also, if you turn right out of the hotel's front door after a couple of blocks you will come to a new and very white Wine emporium that serves lunch, tapas, and is a very pleasant tasting opportunity. A bit different from the Wines of Mendoza which is around the corner to your left from the hotel Tried several of the widely hailed local restaurants, and I join in the hailing, including the restaurant at the Hyatt; we ate out on the terrace and both service and food were quite good.

My wife and I spent 2 nights at the Park Hyatt. The service was friendly and efficient, almost aggressively so. The room was comfortable, large and well-appointed. The location was perfect -- Right in the center of the city on the main square. Essentially, in booking a 5-start Hyatt hotel, we had no surprises.
That said, I can't really say that I was overly impressed with the hotel. Food (room service for breakfast and lunch at one of the restaurants) was mediocre. A massage at the spa was flat-out poor.
I would say that the Park Hyatt is a good safe-bet for travelers to the city, but given the relative high cost of the stay, I'd probably look elsewhere the next time I travel to Mendoza.
