We were so disappointed about staying at this hotel. The hotel itself was very clean, however service was terrible. Hotel front staff were very young and immature. Hotel restaurant was a joke. It took a half and hour to be acknowledge after being seated and the restaurant wasn't' even full. There were 4 other takes of small groups in the entire restaruant. Once we were finally acknowledged and made our drink orders we waited 15min and just left. We noticed the waited socializing with another coworked and didn't even make it to the bar to place our order. Crappy staff, didn't feel very welcoming. Valet service was about the best service recieved at this hotel.

Stayed 3 nights during stampede time. Good location as near Olympic Plaza, has an entrance/exit onto Stephen Avenue (historic downtown street). Staff very friendly and helpful.
Came out of hotel one morning to find First Nations parade group in car park (before riding through downtown area) - which isnt something that happens every place you go. Fitness area well equipped and pool a reasonable shape and size (for a hotel). By that I mean you could swim lengths (albeit around 10 metres) whereas most hotel pools are an oval shape and not for any kind of fitness swimming.

Stayed at the Hyatt Regency, Calgary in Mid April/08
My stay was wonderful and service exceptional.
My stay mostly business oriented, so I spent most of my time in the Hotel and area.
I had challenges booking my accommodations (spoke with 3 res agents) rates quoted had not been consistent. Had issues around billing after departure...billing was corrected immediately following speaking with the Accounting dept.
I often stay at Hyatt properties, just love San Francisco Wharf Hyatt and Park Hyatt in Toronto.
Make sure you take the time and experience the Stillwater Spa.
Would recommend staying at this lovely city centre hotel.

We stayed here for our anniversary and we were disappointed after staying at the Park Hyatt in Toronto and the Grand Hyatt in Seattle. There isn't anything wrong with the hotel but it lacked the high end quality that the other Hyatt's possessed. The best part of this hotel is its location. It is just minutes away from the Calgary tower and many other downtown attractions. The C-train is right behind the hotel for those who don't want to drive but also don't want to spend a fortune on cabs. There is parking for $25 a night but you might be able to get a better rate in the public parking facility that is in the same complex (enter on 1st St. SE). The beds were extremely comfortable and we had a very good rest. The room service wasn't very good. Our food took 50 minutes to arrive and when it did arrive, it was cooked incorrectly and they charged us too much. The room wasn't as big as I was expecting but it was still a good size. Had I not stayed at the other two hotels and expected more, I would have rated the experience a 4. I would stay here again, but my first choice for a downtown Calgary hotel would be the Marriott.

The service was fast and efficent, and the staff were extremly helpful! From the moment we walked through the doors we felt as if we were valued guests. The valet even took it upon himself to assist us with a request for a late check-out as the gentleman at the front desk was serving another guest. We did not ask for this and felt they definatly went above and beyond. The hotel itself is very clean and spacious, absolutly no complaints!
