After reading some of the reviews I was nervous when we arrived here. However, as soon as we got off the elevator (on the third floor) I noticed the hallway carpet was brand new. Arriving in our room it looked as though the paint was new, as was the curtains. So perhaps this hotel has been renovated since some of these bad reviews were posted. I'll make it simple:
PROS: New hallway carpet, new paint, curtains in room. Nice selection of pay-per-view movies. Check-in was a breeze. Lobby was very clean. All rooms are accessed from interior hallways (no outside entrances to the rooms -- big plus). Stayed in a king bed/sofa room...room had couch, table, microwave, mini-fridge...decent-sized room for two people. Bathtub was o.k. Location was good -- around lots of restaurants and stores. Internet worked the whole time but it is not super fast.
CONS: Breakfast was o.k. but hey it's free so what do you expect? Cereals, lots of breads and muffins, sausage patties and french toast (which was nasty), fruit, coffee, juices etc...again it was free and acceptable. Bathroom floor in room had a few hairs on it -- big pet peeve of mine and unfortunately not unusual...for some reason housekeeping in these hotels cannot seem to notice when they are mopping that they have left hair...other than that room was pretty clean.
I paid $105.00 for the room...was it too much? Yes, but all rooms are too expensive these days. All in all, I found the room to be better than most hotels including Comfort Inn and La Quinta. I agree with a few others who said this wasn't the typical Hampton Inn property....it is true most Hampton Inns are quite nice, and this one felt more like a Holiday Inn than a Hampton. But I would stay here again in a heartbeat as there were no real problems. So don't let these horrid reviews scare you. I am super-picky when it comes to rooms, and this one was just fine for me.

I was a little nervous after reading some previous reviews, but price and availability steered me to this motel. It's just off I-20 qnd close to shopping and restaurants. My one-night stay was pleasant. Front desk was very friendly and capable. Room showed some age but was very clean. Fridge and microwave was a big plus. Shower was roomy and great. Free breakfast had a better than average selection and eating area was spotless. It's not The Ritz, but it is a good value.

First of all I have to say that the employees at the Inn were great. But we had been driving all day and when we got there we had things to do so we didn't get back to the hotel until around 10:30 or 11:00 the kids up above us were jumping and running until 1:30 in the morning, which I didn't say anything because it's their vacation too. But then at 8:00 they started tearing out the tile on the room next door. I just believe that they might have known that they were going to do that and they could have told us or given us another room.
The next night the family upstairs had checked out and we had a great night stay. We always stay at Hampton Inn and will continue to do so, as we have always had good service and it's a great place to stay. Thanks I just need to vent.
Housekeeping stole my daughter's dress

I stayed here for my father's funeral last week, and made the mistake of checking out and leaving my daughter's brand new dress in the closet.
Realizing the mistake, I called the hotel that night, and asked them to get it back for me. Luckily, no one stayed in the room that night, but unluckily, the dress was not there, or in lost and found.
I am in disbelief that a hotel would let housekeeping get away with this sort of thing, but this one does. I will NEVER stay at this Hampton Inn again.
Enjoy the dress.

Do Not stay here!! this hotel smells terrible. I had to change rooms which was a little better. the room I was in not only smelled terrible nut the shower curtain rod was cobbed up with a piece of wood. the wall paper was hanging down. the cleaning service sucks too!! I am here on business for a few nights, but would never recommend this place or the holiday inn express which is next door. what a joke!!! i cant wait to get out of here!!
