Okay, so there IS no view. WHO cares??? I didn't spend my time in the Salt Lake valley looking out my hotel window. The room was CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN, nicely furnished and had a mini fridge and micro in the room. The hotel staff were friendly and willing to help. When we checked in there were HOT fresh baked chocolate chip cookies waiting at the front desk. Yummy after a hard day of travel.
The expanded Breakfast while not gourmet was quite good. Biscuits and Gravy one morning, scrambled eggs with ham and cheese the next, eggs with french toast after that and each morning fresh fruit, assorted pasteries, yougurts, cereals, bagels and assorted breads.
I always travel with my own dvd player and movies to hook up to the TV in my rooms and the TV was on a lazy susan so it was easy to move to the side to access the hookups.
The best part was the easy access to the freeway to getting anywhere in the valley was a breeze! As well as reasonably priced. What more could you ask for?

Rooms are ok. But, do NOT stay on the first floor with an odd-numbered room. Your view will consist of a fence and just beyond the fence is an ugly loading dock. Oh, and make sure you are a Hilton Honors guest so you can get a premium room....that is what they say at least. But hmmmmm, I am a Hilton Honors guest and still got the crappy view. Too many other hotels in Salt Lake to stay somewhere with a crappy view. They make a point to tell you 100% satisfaction guaranteed...ha. not quite. AND, if you watch any TV shows on a regular basis that are on BRAVO station...forget watching them here.

Great stay, wonderful staff

This hotel is one of the best I've ever stayed in. I enjoyed it very much. It is as good as a 5 star hotel but a lot cheaper. The hotel was very clean and modern. The rooms were very nice and our children enjoyed the pool. The breakfast was incredible. They had hot and cold food. The eating area clean and well organized.
I've only stayed at a Hampton once or twice but from now on I will check for a Hampton when traveling. The price was very good at $89 on a Saturday night.
The staff were very friendly. They made sure we felt at home and never seemed irritated with our stupid questions. They had cookies waiting for us when we checked in and hot chocolate available for our children at all times. The beds had a lot of pillows. Thanks for the great stay.

What can I say. Comfy bed, high speed wireless, and a very good breakfast. About the only drawback I could find was a lack of restaurants nearby. There was a Wendy's and Burger King a block away, otherwise plan to drive several blocks.
Clean hotel, and friendly staff were highlights on a long week where I did NOT get to go skiing.

Nice hotel, minor issues

The Hampton Inn is new, clean, and very nice. The rooms are large, very well appointed, and quiet.
We arrived on a terribly hot day and were glad to discover the air conditioners work great in the rooms.
I must say, the beds were probably the most comfortable I've ever slept in - even better than my own bed at home! If you need a good night's rest, this place is perfect.
The pool is wonderful. Very clean, perfect temperature, indoors. Ample furniture and accomodations. The spa is large and well maintained.
I did have a serious problem with the wifi Internet access. The signal is poor, depending on where you are located. The system appears to be tied to a very undersized DSL or cable connection and it just drags. I am a business traveler and depend on the Internet for a living, so this was a really bad thing for me.
A less serious problem was the breakfast. Hampton's usually have great breakfasts, but this was the exception. While there was plenty of food available, the quality was very poor. The young lady tending to it was also fairly rude and not doing a good job of taking care of it. Disappointing, but certainly not a deal killer for me.
Overall, I would rate this place as very good and I will stay there again.
