As noted in the previous reviews, the staff was polite and cheery. The d?cor and amenities were like any other Hampton Inn, so ignore reviews from a few years back that were written before refurbishing. Although next to the airport, I didn’t hear a lot of air traffic. My room was facing the local road but the sound of cars, although audible, was muted enough that it didn’t bother me. There are rooms available that don’t face the road. Also there is a free shuttle to and from the airport.
Cons: I could hear my upstairs neighbor walking around. It was a faint, dull thudding noise. I also a neighbor's 5AM alarm clock and later, peeing into a toilet, although I never heard talking, phones ringing, sneezing, etc. The A/C unit is loud. The hot breakfast items were dodgy - uber-salty salami-type meat and odd perfectly round egg products on Monday.
There is nothing to eat within walking distance except the Executive West’s restaurant which is standard American fare (the $11.95 breakfast buffet is good if you're hungry). A couple mediocre wing and pizza joints deliver. The staff said they can shuttle people to places to eat so that is another option. If you have a car, food would not be an issue of course.

Clean room, quiet on the side away from the interstate. Staff was very accommodating, used hotel shuttle service for transportation to NRA convention, restaurant and bars.
Room was neat and clean, hot breakfast saved $$ compared to eating out and was very quick. Exercise room was good.
Staff was friendly and helpful. Overall good experience.

A couple notes to self:
Not all airports have a quite period in the middle of the night, even in Louisville, Kentucky. There were flights all night , at least 3 per hour!!! May have been Military??
Most importantly, not all airport hotels are built with some degree of sound proofing. It was unbearable.
Everything else could have been 5 STAR, but if you check into a hotel and you can't sleep, nothing else matters, period.

We stayed here for one night before an early flight out of Louisville. We were pleasantly surprised to see that the hotel was newly remodeled.
The room was decorated in a modern theme with bright colors. The room had a king bed, a sofa with foot rest. Nice dark wood closets built into the far wall along with a very nice built in desk area. The bathroom was updated and very clean. The beds were comfortable and clean. Wireless internet was included in the rooms.
The staff was friendly and check in and out went smoothly. The breakfast was excellent. It is set to start at 6:00am, we arrived about 15min early due to our flight schedule and found most things set out. They had no problem with us grabbing something a bit early. There were eggs and sausage to make biscuit or bagel sandwiches. Fresh fruit, cereals, juices and coffee.
The hotel is not near any restaurants, but is about a 5 minute drive to the airport. While I think $130/night is a bit high for an airport hotel with nothing around it, we found it to be a very nice and comfortable stay. I wouldn't hesitate to choose this location again.

Check in staff were friendly and quick, room was decent size, 1 KS bed, free high speed wireless, breakfast way more than adequate, the person taking care of the breakfast was on the ball and kept things fresh and appealing. Room very adequate in size as was the bathroom, stayed in room 220. They had a shuttle that took us back and forth the NQC at Fair Grounds and the drivers were very friendly and courteous. Would stay here again for sure.
