I travel for work every other week within the state of NC. I try to stay at Hampton's as much as possible (Hhonors member). This is one of the cleanest, most comfortable Hampton Inn's in NC. Up to date rooms, extremely accommodating staff. Highly recommended!

I recently stayed at this property for one night for a business meeting. Overall, for the contracted rate I thought it was an excellent deal, but you can read about why my stay might not have been the average.
Check-in
Easy and painless. I requested to be away from the elevator and they ended up changing my room to one that was all the way at the end of the hall. Worked out for me.
Room
Since I’m a gold member I was upgraded to a two room suite. The “living room” had a small fridge, microwave, coffee maker, TV, coffee table and sofa. The lights were just so-so, the main light didn’t switch on. The other lights worked fine. The furniture was totally outdated, but I know the hotel is working on improvements. There was wired high-speed internet in the living room on the coffee table. Could have been in a better place, but when they re-do the rooms, they’ll probably look at this. I got to the room late so wasn’t able to use it.
The bedroom had a king size bed, dresser, nightstands and the main thing, a Jacuzzi! The Jacuzzi was in the room and faced a mirror and was close to the TV. Was super-awesome sitting in the tub and watching TV. The Jacuzzi had a titled floor around it that led to the bathroom. Bathroom had a shower stall (no bath) which was small but adequate. Water pressure was firm. The linens could have been placed a little bit better in the room, and one of the hand towels was not clean. Others were fine.
The king bed was firm enough and there were a lot of pillows. There were two hairs on the inside of the comforter (which is the new white duvet), which I wasn’t real pleased about. I ended up taking it off and using the sheet. The hotel was clean, but not white glove clean, it depends how picky you are, I’m obviously very.
I loved that they had water and a snack in my room and that I was able to upgrade. The digital thermostat worked perfectly. My colleagues who had a regular room complained that the manual unit was really difficult to control. Something the hotel might want to look at.
Other
Breakfast was great, they had my favorite To Go bags, along with a hot breakfast bar and other cold items (yogurt, cereal, fruit, etc.). There was a small fitness center with a treadmill and other machines. Was very cool that they had water in fitness room. There was an outdoor pool, but was obviously too cold to try it. Noise in the hotel was minimal. My room faced the pool area so I didn’t hear much. I also didn’t hear much noise in the room, besides maybe a little bit from upstairs, nothing abnormal.
Location
In a great place on Capital Blvd. There are literally a ton of restaurants in this area. If you don’t have a car you can easily walk to get something to eat. Although my office was almost 10 miles away, I would stay here again.
Overall, this was a quality stay and couldn’t beat the price for an upgraded room. Once they remodel the hotel, this will be a much more desirable suite.

Our family stayed at the Hampton Inn off of Capital Blvd. from July 17-20 and experienced hospitality at its finest. After a long, hot, 6 hour drive from Delaware, we walked into a cool lobby where the desk staff promptly checked us in (in under 1 minute) and invited the adults in the family to a "manager's reception" which consisted of an open bar and snacks for a few hours (can you say FREE??) The housekeeping staff were pleasant and appeared to be working hard at cleaning the rooms because we always ran into one of them in the halls. The FREE breakfast in the morning was great- cold cereals, fresh fruit, bagels, toast, danish, coffee, juice, the list goes on. Also nice was the USA Today paper hanging on our door each morning. Beds were comfy, room was spotless. Kids enjoyed a dip in the pool which was stocked with towels. We have occasion to be back in the area in a few weeks and will be back. Highly recommend. As far as restaurants, do skip Crazy Fire Mongolian Grill. Waitress was fabulous, but food was horrid. Try Carrabbas Italian on Capital Blvd. for chic but casual ambiance with food to die for.
