This has to be one of the best Hampton Inn and Suites we have ever stayed at. It has a beutiful lobby area with sofas and a piano, much like you would expect at an upscale hotel. The pool is fabulous and the rooms are extremely clean and comfortable. Staying here is like being at a five star resort. Great place for families to stay. Close to shopping and the interstate.

Because of recommendations here on Trip Advisor I chose
Redding's Hampton Inn & Suites for our last stop after
a three week road trip. It costs a bit more than most
other places but that was okay. They put us in a mini-suite.
Very nice clean room with comfortable bed and pillows, the AC is noisy as
others have mentioned. The free Internet uses a cord and
you need their password card when you first check in.
Shower and bathroom were fine. No problems with water
pressure or anything else.
Free Wine or Beer + cheeses, crackers and salami on the Wednesday
evening we checked in. The lady serving the wine was
kind of grouchy but that's life. All other Staff were very nice.
The Free Breakfast was Awesome. Scrambled eggs with cheese and
sausage patties, fancy donuts and muffins and four different juices.
They also had all of the usual offerings. Cereals & milk, breads, coffees etc. You don't mind paying a bit more for a place like this if it includes
a great breakfast to start your day.
Thanks for your time.

First, the location. It's way better than most hotels on Hilltop Drive, which is just off Hwy 5 and very noisy. This one is quiet.
Secondly, the condition. It's clean, well maintained. Furniture, carpet and bedding are very good.
On the negative side, the elevator is all stainless steel inside, and is very slow. It makes me feel like a steel cage. Also there is a piano in the lobby. But the staff did not want anyone touch it, even for those who plays piano very well, like my daughter.

The wife and I decided to get away for an evening in nearby Redding,Ca and my wife suggested the Hampton. She attended a conference there a few days before and thought it was nice, and she was right.
If you've never been to Redding this hotel is located in a very central location for dining, shopping and seeing the sites. It's in the newer non downtown area and is not surrounded by very many residences so most of the people you see are business people or business travelers. The hotel is off the main hotel row as others have stated and this helps with the traffic noise from the busy Hilltop Drive area. The hotel is farely new and the rooms and public areas still look that way.
Check-in was easy since it was a Thursday and we were fairly early. As others have said, the one elevator is slow but with only 3 floors it wasn't too much of an inconvenience. The room was very clean and fairly spacious and the bathroom was also nice with granite countertops and a clean bathtub/shower. The water pressure was terrible though, but for one shower it was fine.
The pool area was very relaxing and we spent several hours enjoying the sun and water all by ourselves. One of the perks of checking in early before all the business travelers and out of town families showed up.
The free breakfast was average for this type of chain with decent french toast and the usual selection of fatty fried dough goodies and juices.
Overall I was impressed by the whole experience and would not hesitate to recommend the Hampton.
