With previous stays at other Hampton Inn properties, we checked in with HIGH hopes. The lobby and dining area were clean, comfortable and inviting. Our room was also tidy with fresh linens and ample towels.
The elevators may have been the slowest in North America. In a town at 7,000 ft elevation, a room on the 5th floor, and luggage for two women - the stairs were not an option.
The shower door was off the track and was quickly corrected by maintenance. The air conditioner, which was not supported by a thermostat, would turn off at will and not turn on again making the room turn hot and stuffy very fast. We reported this situation to the desk and it was not fixed during our four night stay. This makes for grumpy girls.
While we were not completely unsatisfied, I think next time we may look for a different accomodation.

Overall a good value. Location is convenient to highways, shopping, and dining. No train noise (which can be an issue for lodging in this railroad town). Nice indoor pool. Great staff, OK breakfast (free).

You will know from the start that this is an older hotel, because there are no automatic doors at the entrance. The lobby and the breakfast area next to it are very attractive due to many local items, such as a bronze statue and some western stuff.
At check-in was a very friendly girl, Amy, a real gem. I had made a reservation well in advance and got an upgrade for my Diamond membership. We were given a two-room suite. It had a living area with chairs and sofa, a full kitchen with all kitchenware, a bar and chairs, a bedroom with two queens and a bathroom. The living area had also a gas open fire. Although we were really amazed that it was burning when we entered the room. This hotel can save a lot on money and gas, not to mention the environment.
There was a new airco-unit, but the frame where it was placed upon was broken or not properly made. The kitchen was very simple, but had everything to prepare meals, for us this was a real bonus. The glass windows had signs of weariness, should be replaced the coming years. Everything was clean.
When we asked for shops, Amy immediately wrote down the directions to the supermarket close by. Service is fantastic, also in the evening when we tried one of the two computers. It didn’t work and we got all the assistance possible.
The breakfast was slightly disappointing, but overall we had a good stay, especially because of the great personal attention and the suite with kitchen.

We stayed here for 1 night last week. The room we had was really in bad condition. The heater/AC was falling off the wall, everytime I touched the light switch for the bathroom, I got shocked. The bathroom exhaust fan was crazy loud. No kleenex, carpet frayed. The highway noise was unbeleivable. Constant, non stop trucks, sirens. Breakfast mediocre. Muffins were stale, even the cereal was stale. Ended up eating nothing. One great note - wonderful pool and hot tub. Pool was clean and warm. Very nice pool area. Used washers and dryers..1.75 to wash, 1.50 to dry. Clothes were not dry after the 1st 1.50 drying cycle. Hallways not vacumed....There were also 'chunks of the wall' missing, damaged in our room, where something had hit against the walls and not repaired. Most Hamptons are not so 'tired'....but this one was.

Good Hotel

We stayed here for 2 nights. The room was standard size. Did not come with a fridge or a microwave, but there is one you can use in the breakfast area. Free breakfast as per Hampton Inn. Free Wireless internet connection. Obviously if you need more space and extra amenities a suite would be better.
This room had no tub, just a large walk in shower with a small lip, this style of bathroom would be great for people with mobility issues. The beds very comfortable. No issues with the heater. Water pressure was low though. Our room was on the 5th floor and had a beautiful view of the mountain.
The hotel was very quiet and we could only faintly hear the train. The indoor pool was nice and warm, there was also a jacuzzi and small workout area . Pool area was clean. Pool towels provided. There are bathrooms you can change in. There is a Denny's across the street and a Del Taco in the parking lot. Walmart is also a hop skip and jump. Parking was an issue at night as all the shops, restaurants were competing for spots. But youy can find a spot, just not in front.
Close to eveything you need. Would stay again. Seems to be one of the better spots in town.
