First trip to Hampton Inn - very positive experience!!!!

I've stayed at dozens of hotels and often thought of writing a review when one wasn't up to snuff, but this is the first time I have been completely blown away by the excellent service and facilities at a hotel! I stayed at the Hampton Inn after trying to get a room at the Hilton (too expensive) and the Courtyard by Marriott (booked) near the El Paso Airport, so it was a random choice. This place is positively delightful. The room and bathroom were in beautiful condition, extremely clean, and nicely decorated. Upon arrival, I was treated to "happy hour" which is free in the lobby - with hot foods, fresh vegetables and dip, and beer, wine, and non-alchoholic beverages. The fellow at the front desk (on June 16 & 17) was exceptionally nice and helpful. They have a service where they'll laminate your business card overnight and create a luggage tag for you by the next morning. Breakfast the next morning was also complementary and included hot and cold selections which were of very high quality. It was my first time at a Hampton Inn and I thought it was a very positive experience. I will definitely look for other Hampton Inns in my future travels!!!

I really appreciate all the helpful advice from Trip Advisor folks because it persuaded me to stay here. It was my first time at a Hampton Inn. I'll be a loyal customer of theirs from now on! Everything was perfect and above any expectations I could have had! (I stayed subsequentely at a Hampton Inn in California with same results!) I'll never want to stay in any other hotel chain because it doesn't get any better then this!

We stayed here after flying into the airport and stayed again before we flew out after our vacation. We stayed in a suite and a standard room. Both were roomy and comfortable. The first night we made use of the kitchen and prepared a light dinner. There were dishes and utensils and a couple pans. We also made use of the whirlpool, which was clean and hot. We stayed on the weekend, so the rates were a bargain. The airport shuttle drivers were courteous and personable. On the down side, we reserved a smoking room and the hotel has gone smoke-free. However, we were placed in a first floor room that had a sliding door to the pool area where we could smoke. The other negative was that outside there was a smell of asphalt from the factories, however, we did not notice the smell within the hotel.

I only write reviews for horrible or great hotels, and this Hampton was great. I can't believe it isn't brand new! Everything seemed fresh. It was a bit pricey, but El Paso doesn't seem to have many nice hotels. (I originally was staying at the Embassy Suites down the road, and walked out after being their 5mins). I enjoyed the manager’s reception with complimentary drinks and snacks. (I’m sure it’s only during weekdays). Also, this hotel doesn’t just shuttle you to the airport, they will take you to nearby restaurants or destinations.
