Stayed here because it was recommended by a co-worker who had visited Dover on business back in July. The price is good, but it was a bit far from the location I was working at (Blue Hen 3.5 miles). Everything looked great from the outset, but ran into a few problems. Shower hot water was totally non-existant....for about 5 minutes, until I figured out that the faucet was poorly adjusted or defective. If you had it on "H" you got ice cold water...you had to back it down toward "C", and play with it a while to get a tolerable temperature. Water pressure was weak, shower head badly clogged with deposits. Was only here long enough for one shower, so reported it when I left. Then discovered that the TV remote control was defective. Could only change channels with the up or down button, none of the number buttons worked, with 73 channels this was a problem. Reported that to the night clerk as I was headed out for dinner, it was fixed by the time I return. Later discvered that HBO was so fuzzy that it was virtually unusable. Did'nt watch a lot of TV so reported this when I left. The in-room refridgerator was constantly cycling on and off with a loud click and hum, so I eventually turned it off....had to lean it forward out of the cabinet to get to the control on the back. Also, agree with previous posts that AC/Heat unit was entirely too loud. Fortunately didn't need it....would have had to work ear plugs to sleep. Complained when I left about that also. Otherwise everything else was good. (avoid room 306)

Was leary of staying here due to some TA reviews, but was very pleasantly surprised. Room was nicely decorated, with wonderfully comfortable beds, AC was not noisy at all, bathroom was spacious with beautiful corner vanity, plenty of towels and pillows, free internet worked great. As to breakfast, I'm confused by one post which said it was "chemically laced" and only suitable for fatties! This was by far the best breakfast we've had at a Hampton Inn. Plenty of healthy fare - including fresh apples, bananas and oranges; fruit salad; wide selection of cereals incl healthy choices such as raisin bran and granola, and selection of low fat yogurt and fruit juices. A different hot entree is featured each day (never had this before at a Hampton), when we were there it was ham/cheese egg scramble. Also you could get breakfast "to go" at the check out desk - which included water, breakfast bar, apple, and muffin. We are health conscious and usually are usually disappointed with the continental breakfast, but this one had a variety of low fat, healthy choices.
Do agree with post that said ceilings were low in hall, and wallpaper and carpet in hall had very busy, dizzying patterns. But, rooms had regular height ceilings and were nicely appointed. Rooms also have refrig, coffee maker, and good quality amenities (shampoo, conditioner, lotion). Don't be discouraged by reviews, we had a great stay.

Newly renovated and spiffy, but AC very noisy, bright lights in parking lot; windows didn't open, so I prefered stale air all night. The breakfast was standard shipped-in chemical-laced industrial stuff suitable only for fatties. Narrow TV selection.
It was a clean and very comfortable bed, and had an upscale feel that fell back as noted above.

Spent one night at the Hampton Inn on the way back from Myrtle Beach--room was spotlessly clean, beds, pillows and duvet extremely comfortable, like sleeping on a cloud. Hotel had internet access in the business center. Breakfast was hot and good and included. Pool area average. The only complaint was the air conditioner was way too noisy--couldn't sleep with it on. If that was fixed they'd be almost perfect. Would definitely stay there again if in the area.

The hotel staff was friendly and prompt, though could not tell me where a laudrymat was. Bed, bedding, pillows were excellent; surprised me for a Hampton Inn. Breakfast had good variety of food..fruit, yogurt, cereal, hot items as well as a brown-bag with apple, muffin, Special K bar, water if in a hurry. Shower was hot with fairly strong spray. But my one big complaint (and I saw it elsewhere) is the LOUD Trane air conditioner. It is so loud, the TV volume had to be at max to hear it. I kept thinking my neighbors would be complaining about it, but they were probably doing the same thing. And there is no adjusting it. I complained and the maintenance staff looked at it, but nothing could be done.
