Another Family Reunion lead us to the Hampton Inn Danville.
Our stay was excellent. Rooms were clean and quiet. Location is convenient. Kids really enjoyed the outdoor pool. Breakfast was fine (although I actually ate at the Biscuitville across the street since it is one of my favorites) but kids ate at the hotel...

A Comfortable Place to Stay

I only stayed for 2 days but my stay was pleasant. I found the staff to be just as pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was very statisfying. My king sized bed was wonderful. I also enjoyed the updated bedding.
The only downside to my room was the sofa bed. It was horrible to sleep on. I will never upgrade to a suite until they replace those sofas.

We booked 5 rooms at the Hampton Inn in Danville, Va for our family due to a funeral. The hotel itself is very nice and clean. We did not have hot water in 2 of the rooms we stayed in, and one room did not have a working phone. We also had the unlucky stay at the same time a family with 5 kids was in the motel.Nothing against 5 kids as I have that many myself. But these were 5 very young kids in a room by themselves, while the parents were in another room. The TV was so loud all night long and the kids ran up and down the hallways knocking on doors until atleast 3:30 a.m. Management was back and forth for hours trying to get the parents to answer the door or the phone, and finally were able to get the tv turned down about 6:00 a.m.
We complained the next morning and the manager did take 2 of the 5 rooms off of our bill which was only fair. Turns out the family staying there were victims of a fire and using the motel as temporary housing. So if you stay at the Hampton in Danville, you might want to ask if there are any kids on your floor! And check the hot water immediately to make sure you don't get a cold shower.

Beware spoiled food!

Be very careful staying at this Hampton Inn! We encountered spoiled fruit salad and other food items not kept at proper temperature. The yogurt was room temperature even though it was sitting on top of ice. I suspect the fruit salad spoiled because it, like the yogurt, was not refrigerated properly. The other aspects of our stay were fine...little solace if you get food poisoning. Management needs to take aggressive action to remedy this situation. One of the other reviews pointed to problems in the food area, but spoiled food is unforgivable.
