The staff at The Hampton Inn were absolutely amazing. We were served fresh fruit out by the pool. The manager brought out games for my children to play. Always friendly and always smiling. The room was a bit small for a family of four but still worked out great for us. The appearance of the place is average but the staff definately makes up for it. It's very clean but nothing fancy or flashy. Great place to stay!

Guess I should have read the reviews first. We decided to stay on a weekend trip, my wife checked in, while I unloaded onto a cart, then we found out the room was upstairs, with no elevator. We went up to check the room, we were both hit with a damp musty mildew smell. We left, and found other accommodations. Not up to Hilton/Hampton standards, more like a motel six, that overcharges.

If you have a choice, stay elsewhere when in Columbus. This motel (not hotel) has room doors that open directly to the outside: I didn't feel 100% safe and secure the time I was here. The entire room, including the sink area, is visible from the window which, as noted, is accessible from the outside. There is not an elevator, just stairs. There isn't a fitness room. On the plus side, the public area was nice and the breakfast had fresh fruit and yogurt available.

The hotel is a little tired, outside hallways, due for renovation.
It has a good location and the people where some of the best!
Continental breakfast was average.
It was clean, but I could smell smokers in next room.
I would stay there again.

I had made reservations while on a business trip and wanted to stay close to a friend's house - this was the closest hotel. She was surprised that I had chosen this hotel. First, I guess I didn't read close enough when making reservations - it's a motel, not a hotel. It was one of the first Hampton Inns that I have booked that did not have "inside" rooms. I was then told that I had a second floor room without an elevator. I had too much luggage to have to deal with that and inquired about a first floor room - all smoking (which I can't handle due to allergies). Well I figured I would still tough it out. When I drove to the back of the complex and entered the stair area - it was dark and I did not feel safe. Needless to say I canceled the reservation and was able to find another Hampton Inn a few miles away.
