I have stayed at many Hampton Inns and this was probably the most average one. There is nothing wrong with it ... but it wasn't as nice as most others I have stayed at. The hot breakfast was good, but didn't have any extras like some Hampton Inns have. The staff, however, was very nice. They let us check in early and were very nice with any request we had. The pool was warm, but had some dead bugs in the water due to its outdoor location. Overall, I would stay here again for the value and location, but it certainly wasn't one of the best Hampton Inns I have seen.

Funky

Not a great place to stay if you're looking for a relaxing place on your vacation. However, it is conveniently located by several bail bondsmen, pawn shops, and fast food joints. The room was fairly clean but the bathroom was just plain funky. Behind the door housekeeping missed a large pile of what looked like a combination of cookie crumbs and pubic hair.
Needless to say, I will never stay here again. Be careful not to confuse this hotel with the Hampton Suites in Downtown St. Pete.
Unremarkable

I stayed here for one night on a business trip a while ago. The hotel was comfortable enough, had a nice bed, nice bathroom, but the surroundings were really unremarkable. This is one avenue like so many in the US, littered with motels, hotels, gas stations, strip malls. The hotel had a nice garden and pool, which I did not have time to experience. It is doubtful I'll ever have a chance to return to check on what I have missed.

Stayed 3 nights at the Hampton Inn and the hotel itself is average but the neighborhood is shady. Located directly on 34th Street with a few fast food restaurants within walking distance. Residential neighborhood behind the hotel feels unsafe and I wouldn't advise walking at night alone there. Rooms were adequate, nothing special. Comfortable bed, housekeeping okay, water pressure poor on showers. Basic amenities. Complimentary breakfast was acceptable, it was possible to get a few decent choices with excellent robust coffee and fresh fruit. Nancy who takes care of the breakfast area is a delight. Hotel staff, friendly and helpful but need a bit of polishing up on providing superb guest service. Parking is complimentary but one has to be concerned about the surroundings. Pool area is well maintained as is the property itself. You definitely need a car to get to the beaches and Bay Walk area. This is my second stay here due to the proximity to family members. Great food finds, Mazzaro's Italian Restaurant and Market is sublime with incredible food to eat on site or to go. Another nice find is Mid Penninsula Seafood for outstanding fresh seafood.
