Overpriced for the amenities, but great location

I stayed at this Hampton Inn April 15-17, 2008 and generally liked it but when comparing to other Hamptons it just doesn't cut the mustard.
The location is excellent (at W Dodge and I-680) even though you have to learn to navigate the frontage roads around Westroads to get to this hotel. The staff is friendly and the breakfast good, but I've had better at other Hamptons. My major pet peeve at hotels is that when I ask to have my room made up at a specific time it is because I will be gone during the interim and I want to return to a clean room. I made this request to the housekeeping supervisor personaly - in the presence of the manager - and gave the staff 2.5 hours to get it done - and they didn't.
Also- this property is an older "made-over" Hampton Inn without a pool or spa, and the exercise room is about half the size of the other Hampton's I've used this year - which have been newer.
Bottom line - I should have booked the Hilton Garden Inn a few miles west on Dodge - and I will the next time I'm in Omaha.

Didn't get a cloud nine bed, good location.

I liked this hotel. The location is right next to the mall for some on the road shopping and good eating spots. The lobby is clean, elevator works, room was clean, but I didn't get a cloud nine bed? It was like they started to upgrade this Hampton and stopped. So I wasn't happy about that. When will hotels learn it is all about the bed?
Everything else seemed fine and breakfast was very good. Coffee 24/7 was nice so I could have a great cup of decaf in the evening.
I did workout and the equipment was newer and about 7 pieces - plenty for everyone. I didn't see what the pool looked like.
I did get 2 bottle of water and some snacks in my room - always a plus.
I would suggest staying here, but ask if some rooms do have the new beds.

This Hampton Inn was built as another hotel and renovated into a Hampton Inn. On the positive side, the rooms were spacious (16x17 feet) - except for a small bathroom, had the new beds and linens, staff was extremely friendly (pointing out the wild turkeys that frequently visit the area outside). Location is next to a mall with many good restaurants in the area - some within walking distance. The public areas were spacious, had two computers, and the complimentary breakfast excellent - with everything that I like- and always well stocked. On the negative side, the property was not as clean as I would have liked (I found a bug in my bathroom), the property was older, and the one slow elevator took a long time to get out. The location was hard to get to - being next to a confusing interchange. This hotel is OK but not one of the better Hampton Inns, which normally I consider a top choice. I would probably not stay here again unless everything else is booked (which is common in this area). If you like Hilton properties, there is an excellent Hilton Garden Inn 4-5 miles further west on Dodge Road and nearby there is a new Comfort Inn that I would try first.
