This hotel is not your usual Hampton, most of which have doors that open onto interior hallways and offer somewhat cramped rooms. This hotel is more like an older Holiday Inn from decades ago, in terms of design, layout and proportion. We give it a big thumbs-up.
The doors of this Hampton open onto an outside hallway sheltered from the elements. Access from the parking area is fairly easy. The place is nicely landscaped and is patrolled 24/7 by a guard.
The best thing about this hotel is the size of the rooms - they were typical 1960's size - enormous by today's standards. True, the bathroom and sink area was somewhat smaller than a more modern Hampton, but we vastly preferred the spacious living area and being able to walk around inside the room without tripping over luggage and "van stuff" that our family of four hauled in.
The room was quiet, and we heard no noise from guests on either side of us or from any other source. Typical of every other Hampton we've stayed at, the staff was professional and friendly. The wireless internet service worked exceptionally well. And breakfast was fresh, with a good selection. No part of the facility - our room nor the common areas - smelled of any cleaning chemicals. The place was fresh and well-cared for.
A happy note - we checked in at around 1130pm after a long day on the road. So I didn't notice that after we'd checked in, received our room keys and gotten settled in the room, that I did not have my credit card with me. I never did notice it missing actually; a polite knock at our door came from the night watchman who brought my card to me with apologies from the front desk manager - the manager had returned it to me, but I'd absent-mindedly left it sitting on the upper counter.
I've been at a hotel in which a similar mistake cost me some money, but not this hotel - they were as honest and trustworthy as they were helpful and encouraging.
If we're ever in Ocala again, this Hampton is where we're staying.

From the minute we arrived til the minute we left, we received excellent service! We travel quite extensively especially in the winter months to get away from the Chicago winters! Although we only planned to stay a day in Ocala, the staff at the Hampton made us feel so welcome that we extended our stay a couple extra days to take in the sights. Although there is no concierge, the front desk staff was very knowledgable about the local area and helped us make reservations at Silver Springs, a local horse farm tour, and even dinner at a beautiful quaint "old Florida" restaurant on the Withlacoochee River. IF it wouldn't have been for the excellent customer service we received we wouldn't have known all about these great fun things to do in the area! The hotel has been completely renovated the last year, I believe and from the new bedding to the furnishings, everything was just so comfly and welcoming. The housekeepers also went out of their way to make sure that we had everything we needed. I guess what was so wonderful about the Hampton in Ocala is that the staff made us feel like "family". You can travel the world around and find hotels that offer all the same items but its the "staff" that really makes the difference. At the Hampton, they have it all, from an excellent staff, beautiful property with lovely grounds and a very nice outdoor pool, the security is great, very professional and watches over the property with "an eagle's eye". We requested a first floor room facing the parking lot to easily bring our luggage in to our room. So, the outside entrances work great for us,. We felt very safe and one of the lobby attendents helped us with our luggage although he certainly didn't have to. Each day we also had a great FREE hot breakfast in the dining area off the front desk near the exercise room and business area. And, by the way, the hotel has FREE high speed wireless. (Some places you have to pay!) You also get a FREE "breakfast bag" to go IF you'd like and one day we did use this because we were on our way to the horse farm and slept in a little too late! Again, no hassle for the staff , just smiles all around. We truly recommend the Hampton Inn Ocala for anyone traveling to the area. They, by far, exceeded our expectations and we will return on our way back through! Please keep them in mind for your upcoming travels!

My husband, infant son and I stopped here on our way back home to Coconut Creek, FL. We had stayed at a Quality Inn in Ozark, AL, the previous evening and, at half he price, that experience was preferable to the one at this hotel.
While the Hampton Inn's beds are slightly more comfortable, both rooms were meticulously clean, the showers hot and the towels and pillows plentiful. The room at the Hampton only had a coffee maker which we didn't bother using since it apparently only made one cup of coffee at a time. The Quality Inn room was equipped with new appliances: a mini fridge, a microwave and a better coffee maker than the Hampton.
Both hotels offered complementary breakfast. The Quality Inn had delicious biscuits, the Hampton's biscuits were more suited to paving your driveway or constructing an outdoor barbeque pit. I made the mistake of trying to eat the eggs at the Hampton. Do not attempt this unless you have good health insurance. I should have known better than to eat gray eggs anyway.
The service, however, at both hotels was exemplary. The staff at both the Hampton and Quality Inn were friendly and accommodating.
In short, our stay at the Quality Inn cost around $62 AFTER taxes and was a more pleasurable experience than was had at the Hampton Inn for around $140. I would seek out a Quality Inn rather than stay at a Hampton Inn next time I travel - as surprising as that sounds.

We stayed at the Hampton Inn of Ocala on the second night out on the way to Disney. We specifically picked Ocala as we wanted to be about an hour or so away from Disney. The hotel was very nice, the beds were the most comfortable that we have found in a hotel in years. The front desk was courteous and very concerned that we had all the amenities that we needed. The rooms were clean, well-maintained and smelled very fresh (something you don't always find in a hotel with a large pass thru clientele) Althought we generally do not like hotels with outside corridors, these were very well-lit and we felt very safe at the hotel. The next morning we stopped in for juice and coffe before leaving for Disney. We didn't eat a full breakfast as we had breakfast reservations at Disney. The food however smelled wonderful, it was plentiful and seemed to have a nice variety. There were many people in and out but tables were kept clean and food was regularly replenished. We would definately stay here again.

My husband and I were driving to Pensacola from KW to pick up a boat that we purchased. We got stuck in some heavy traffic and around 11pm we had had enough driving and needed to stop. We had our laptop in the car and used our Microsoft Map Software to pick out a close location to stop and Ocala was it. The map also has a feature that allows you to display nearby hotels, restaurants, and other points of interest. Hampton Inn popped up and was affordable so we stayed there.
The staff was super nice and helpful too. The property is very clean and had a security gaurd on premis too which was nice. The hotel itself is oold style motel with all of the rooms exactly alike with the window by the door to the room. We got a king bedded room which is a prerequisite with us since my hubby is very tall. The bed was comfy and the room immaculate. When we awoke at 5:30 for a 6am departure the next day the free hot breakfast was a nice touch.
We checked out and continued on to pick up the boat. On our way back we got stuck in a deludge and decided to stop again in the same area. We checked back in to The Hampton Inn since we liked it so much and we got the same room. This time it was earlier and the management had set out fresh baked cookies for the guests which is a regular nightly procedure.
Anyway, if we are ever in the area again for a quick stopover this is where we will be.
