Pros:
Beautiful views of marina, if you are fortunate enough to have a room on that side of the hotel. Friendly and professional service from staff. Good location near Interstate 5, Cabrillo monument, etc. Well maintained pool area, with towels and drinks. Free parking.
Cons:
No breakfast included, unlike most Best Western properties. Drab rooms, and small in size.

We stayed at this hotel before and after our Cruise. The hotel is not the best location to be in proximity to the pier, however we were delighted to find out the hotel offered a complimentary shuttle to and from the pier, with some advance notice! And in addition to the pier shuttle, a complimentary airport shuttle is also offered.
The hotel is situated right on the Harbour in Shelter Island, while the location wasn't the best for us, the views of the Harbour were spectacular! The Front Desk staff were all super friendly and very helpful. We had drinks and some snacks at the pool-side bar which were all really good, and the staff there too were also quite friendly and helpful.
Rooms were a great size, and very clean - only minor complaint we had was the TV was not in the best working order, of course we didn't come on vacation to watch TV, but it's nice to have the option. (in our case we were out and about most of the time anyways)

We arrived here towards the end of an east coast trip and were looking for a place to relax after a lot of traveling. We were not dissapointed.
The hotel has its own marina on the city side and the harbour entrance on the ocean sde. The location could have been called peacefull apart from some airplane noise and the odd cruise ship/naval vesell foghorn.
The pool was nice and the hot spa really hot, it did get a bit crowded but it was a holiday weekend.
We only used the resteraunt for breakfast and these were great.
The rooms were well appointed, beds comfortable, good bathroom though for some reason no lights in the shower which was a bit gloomy.
Woke up on the Friday morning to find a tented village had sprung up overnight on the verges and other grassy areas by the sea, we had stumbled upon the best place to see the 4th July fireworks display. 5 locations co-ordinated a wonderfull display around the bay.
Great location, nice rooms, good pool and food . would have loved to stay longer.

The staff at this hotel were so nice that all that was missing was a
Savannah Southern Accent and sweet tea or stronger. Man these people are
nice. I was greeted by every single person with a "good Morning" "what
a great day" "can I help you" by everyone from a gentleman driving a
golf cart, to Eric at the pool to a housekeeper just passing by to Hank
from the front desk. Awesome service.
We needed extra cream for our in-room coffee and not only did we get a
bag of cream but extra coffee - no charge and within minutes of asking.
Hank called our room about 10 minutes after a no hassle early check in
and asked if we needed anything and we asked for a couple more chairs
to sit on the patio overlooking the marina - no problem in 10 minutes.
Stayed with my 17, 16 and 8 year old daughters on spring break. 2 miles
from Seaworld. 7 miles from Gaslamp/cruise ships. Great views, heated
pool and hot tub overlooking the marina. Trader Joes is about 2 miles
away - 2 buck Chuck at night overlooking the bay with a full moon and
nice breeze.....sweet.
Note that we - like many travelers here - have travelled the world and
lived overseas, stayed at everything from Ritz Carlton in Osaka to
well -no tell motels in Houston, so trust me when I say you will not be
disappointed with this choice. EVERYTHING in this stay was completely
hassle free, no worries and perfect..
We loved the 60's Scottsdale, AZ. /Beverly Hills look and feel.
Everything was clean, manicured, well maintained.

It was my choice to stay here on my special birthday. And I was not disappointed.
The hotel is on a peninsula situated between the marina and the bay. The views are magnificent.
The front desk was a bit artificial in their politeness, but helpful.
The restaurant was tastefully decoreated, the service-people were "artificial" in their studied sentences but the food was very good.
We slept well and undisturbed, it seemed that the front-desk upgraded our room a bit.
