This hotel was perfect! Very close to the location where we needed to be, less than a minute away! The beds/pillows were comfy, warm showers, clean room. I would definitly stay there again! They have a GREAT selection for breakfast, even hot stuff! Staff is very friendly and will help you with anything. Many restaurants/shopping centers nearby!

Our company used to use this hotel and it is an average Hampton. The rooms are smaller than the "& Suites" brand, but very similar. The hotel is starting to show some wear and to their credit they have put the new Hampton specs in place, but the loud groups that they have every weekend are beginning to take their toll.
They have all the necessities: Internet, Breakfast, Pool, Spa, and a game room, and they generally do well with the basics. However they apparently have no storage space because there are only two mini refrigerators in the entire hotel and it is a first come, first serve basis. Can't even reserve one. Cannot get a microwave either so this place is not good for more than a night or two unless you're a Steak N Shake fanantic and enjoy those after 11pm. There are other suite hotels in the area with bigger rooms and nice amenities. I usually travel with a lot of stuff so I ask for a double to spread my stuff on because the Hampton's regular kings are small and I need more room to analyze my day. A competitor, which I won't name, but it is across 71st Street, has rooms with sofas and coffee tables and pretty sizable desks, in addition to the microwaves and fridges.
Staff is friendly, but from what I've observed, when they do not perform to a guests expectations, for example, the upset guy in front of me at check out some time last year, the front desk seemed afraid to do anything but just comp his room. I think what he really wanted was some service, that he did not get and wanted to speak to the manager. Unfortunately for him, the front desk lady told me that the manager just shows up when he wants to. Must be nice to have that many clientelle that you can make some mad and still charge $119 bucks a night, but that's Hampton and Hilton. I think the only reason we were using the hotel is that the former regional manager got points for all of our rooms since he paid for them. I never had a serious problem, but comping my stay would not have satisfied me, nor would points.
Now our company is across the street at the above mentioned competitor and I like it much more because of the space and design. A lot more family friendly too. But if you're a slave to Hilton, and enjoy paying him and his daughters, this Hampton will do. However, there is a new Hilton Garden Inn going in soon a few miles away. So, this Hampton better step their game up.

Hampton Inns have a good thing going with the free internet and hot breakfast of the day. A three day event in Indy went off without any issues with the hotel. This hotel was clean, quiet, and has easy access to the freeway. The guy in charge of the breakfast cared about giving the quests a quality meal. The area is an easy drive in to downtown, about 15 min. There were many new restaurants close but not walking distance.

A Great Place for the Indy 500!

We just got back from staying at this Hampton while in town for the Indy 500. You have to sign a special events contract for two nights but that is standard everywhere. The hotel is very clean, quiet (except for a couple of late night partiers coming home) and is very welcoming. Although we didn't go in there, they have an indoor pool and exercise room that people were using. The breakfast bar was good, if you have realistic expectations. They open earlier than 6 am on race day and had a fruit bowl, eggs, biscuits and sausage gravy along with the usual muffins, bagels, cereal and juice. It was more than enough to get us through our first several hours at the track. They also had a complimentary bag of chips, pretzels, cookies, candy bars and a gatorade for us in the room. It was worth about ten dollars and we thought it was a really nice "thanks for being here" present. We left the hotel at 6:20 am after reading on the internet that it would take us 4 or so hours to get to the track. We were there in 12 minutes. It took us 20 minutes to get back, but we didn't leave the track until 5:30 pm, (we went to the museum on site.) It will take you longer for the Brickyard 400 but you will still not be staying wherever the rest of the crowds stay. There are a lot of restaurants on 86th street that the front desk can direct you to along with two small pubs/pizza places that you can walk across the parking lot to. Oh, and don't forget the Steak and Shake. Anytime we go to Indy, we will absolutely stay here!
