We just spent the night in North Platte NE at the Hampton Inn. It was great! They had the best cookies to greet us with. The clerks were very friendly and efficient. They found my reservation immediately. I don't know if this was a newer hotel or if it had been remodeled, but our room was very up-to-date, stylish and clean. The hot breakfast included sausage and eggs to make breakfast sandwiches besides the normal continental breakfast selections. We will definately stay there again on our travels across I-80.

We stopped here on a cross-country trip. It is being renovated in parts (we saw workers in the lobby), and there is plastic covering the carpet in some hallways. However, we did not hear any noise or have any problems with dust. The rooms were clean and perfectly adequate for an overnight stay. The bed was comfortable, and there is free wi-fi and a continental breakfast. We have no complaints--it is exactly what you expect from a Hampton Inn, which is a good thing.

Great place to stay. Staff is very friendly and very knowledable of the area. Alicia is the best! I didn't swim, but the pool was warm. Plenty of places to eat nearby. You can walk to Applebees and another local diner. Rooms are nice, beds are comfortable. Each room has a LCD tv. My room had a recliner which makes it feel even more like home. No HD Channels though. Lobby has cookies n coffee. I haven't tried the breakfast yet, but it looks like a good spread. Plenty of room in the lobby to eat.
They are in the middle of a remodel here, so it can only get better. I highly recommend staying here.

When I made a reservation in advance, something strange happened. I booked on the hotel website a 1-bedroom suite with whirlpool, on the reservation on my screen it confirmed the 1-bedroom suite, but somewhat later when I received the confirmation e-mail I suddenly had a studio suite! It still bothered me and a few days later I cancelled the reservation, made a new one and the same thing occurred. Only now I printed the direct confirmation showing on my computer screen.
Upon arrival in the hotel, the girl at the front desk was very friendly. But she couldn’t give us the 1-bedroom suite and gave us the studio suite, saying this was a beautiful room and we would like it very much. When we entered the elevator, we were a little bit shocked, have not seen an elevator in a long time with such an ugly old carpet full of grubby marks. But when we arrived in our room, we were really getting irritated. This was definitely not a suite, the carpet was very very old, there was only one recliner full of cleaned but still showing dirty spots, old furniture, the only thing new was a flat screen TV. There was one small window in the room, but not really a view as we were looking at the cover at the entrance.
I went back to the reception, saying we wanted the 1-bedroom suite we reserved. This was not possible without paying an extra 20 dollars + tax. Having paid already over 120, I refused. We could have a 2-room suite but not with a whirlpool and when I had a look I saw the same old furniture. Besides, we wanted to have the whirlpool! As we were very tired and didn’t want to argue a long time, we just had to accept our room.
It was even getting worse. When we used the whirlpool we noticed this was a very old thing, buttons were missing. In all other hotels whirlpool rooms will have extra towels. Here we had only two of each size!!!! (We would hardly use more; it just shows the quality of the hotel, as even in cheap hotel chains you will get in a standard room 3 of each size.)
There was only one lamp next the bed, and yes, this thing didn’t work, not even when I changed bulbs.
The only thing nice was the breakfast the next morning. I made my complaints when I checked out; the staff said that the management would contact me. Have not heard anything since, it all occurred one month ago. On this site this hotels gets very high remarks from travelers. We felt mislead with our reservation and found it definitely not worth the money.
