We arrived to LA from Europe late afternoon and stayed in the first night in this hotel. We read the reviews here and I have to say the place met all our expectations. The staff was warm and helpful. Room was very clean and reasonably large and bed was just perfect. On the other hand, A/C was a bit old and noisy, so forget about using it during the night. Breakfast options were a bit limited (we missed some hot dishes) but still good. Great value for the money!

I wasn't sure about this hotel at first, because I won it through Priceline and didn't know anything about it. I started doing research and was somewhat impressed, but not as impressed as when I walked into the room. A friend and I stayed for 5 nights in a Suite with two very comfortable queen beds, a nice seperate sitting area, and clean, up to date accommodations, including free Wifi access which works like a charm. The staff was pleasant, the area was very quiet and peaceful, and even other guest there were friendly. The continental breakfast wasn't extensive, but it was sufficient for getting your day started. We were nearby Century City, Beverly Hills, and other sightseeing areas. In my opinion, this hotel deserves more than 2 stars.

The hotel meets all my requirements; good location within a maximum 20 minutes drive to all LA attractions, safe neighbourhood, reasonable price, free breakfast (good one), free parking (tight but wonderful benefit in LA), guest laundry (helped me a lot), big comfortable room w/siiting area, fridge and microwave (You can save at eating).
For me a hotel is a place with free options just to have a sleep and save to pay for attractions. The staff were awesoome, very kind, very helpful and knowledgeable; especially Fred, thank you for everything. I would defintely recommend the hotel for families and I will stay there every time I am in LA.
You must try The Lobster restaurant in Santa Monica, (expensive) but amazing!!! Just five to seven minutes drive from the hotel.

We booked here strictly because of the location and would probably have looked elsewhere had we known about the parking situation. Parking is tight. Very tight.
The desk staff was friendly and helpful. We were upgraded to a suite and happy about that. We were very happy with the room, although the bathroom was a little cramped. Internet access was possible only with an wi fi amplifier. At 3:00 they had two at the desk, one of which worked and provided a nice solid connection.
There aren't any restaurants withing easy walking distance, and the parking situation makes driving to a restaurant an unwelcome option. We ordered out. There aren't a lot of other local choices, but I'd try to find someplace with better parking and a nearby restaurnat.

When the best parking option is street parking, you know it's not good, but that doesn't even come close to describing the parking mess you'll find here. There are two parking lots, one is above ground and has about eight spots. It's a dead end lot so while getting in can be doable, getting out is a mess, as you have to manuever the other cars as well as the uncomfortably close walls of the hotel. Once you leave, you have to go out on to a busy street and your view will be blocked on both sides by the lucky guests who were able to find street parking.
If you have to park in the underground lot, you have to manuever through other cars, poles, garbage, the ceiling (!), as well as the unsafely steep one way ramp that leads down to the parking structure. If you are entering when someone else is trying to exit, you'll either have to reverse up a narrow hill with walls on both sides or hope the other person will reverse downhill into parked cars. It's going to be an accident either way so just hope for the best.
Once you get into the hotel, assuming you even make it that far, you'll probably have to try a few times before you get a clean room (i've stayed here twice and was shown to a dirty room both times). Then you can plug in your computer and if you're lucky enough to get a computer signal (I could on one of the 4 days I was there) it will not be "high-speed." I actually got a faster connection using the phone line. You can try to complain to the front desk but they'll just tell you to call a 1-800 help line that will just tell you that the problem is on the hotel's end.
The only nice thing about the hotel is the location, although there is absolutely NOTHING within walking distance or even short driving distance, you can reach all of the LA destinations without having to pay the typical LA prices. There is one guy that works at the hotel that is very nice but most of the workers could really care less about you.
Do yourself a favor and stay at the Ramada down the street. It used to be a Holiday Inn Express, it has good parking, and it's cheaper.
