Very Nice
Guest name: Pattyjo98, Las Vegas, NV
This is the only hotel in a quiet area, White Rock, which is just outside Los Alamos. Our room was spotless and the staff very friendly. We were there to hike in Bandelier National Monument and attend the museums in Los Alamos. Get a burrito at El Parasol...so good! Pickins are slim near the hotel for meals, however, there is a supermarket with a deli. I've stayed in many Hampton Inns and this is in the top for cleanliness!
Not bad considering the choices!

Room was o.k., nothing fancy. Had all the necessary amenities for a short stay. Bed was comfortable as all Hampton Inn's are and room was clean. The only problem was the shower head was on its last leg.
Breakfast was good and offered many choices. Evening manager's special is o.k. but not as many food choices as the Homewood Suites in Santa Fe, NM.
Would I stay here again? Yes. Only if the Homewood Suites is not available though.

High rates, low Hhonors points
Guest name: CaptainPlanIt, Asheville, North Carolina
I found the rates for the time we would be visiting to be well over $100 a night at this hotel, so checked the Hhonors point redemption level. This was a category one property, meaning only 10,000 points for a free night's stay. That was a no brainer.
As for the hotel, this was as standard a Hampton Inn as you will find. The kids working the desk (they seemed like they were sixteen years old!) were ebullient and helpful. The bed was comfortable, everything worked, the breakfast was the standard Hampton fare.
The property is not in Los Alamos but in White Rock, about a ten minute drive away. This made the hotel very convenient for visiting Bandelier, our destination the next morning. As it was, we were the first people in the park and had the cliff dwellings to ourselves for over an hour.
I would recommend this hotel, although without a lot of enthusiasm. It was a high priced Hampton Inn, why I can't really figure out. By staying with points I was more than satisfied.
Great Place to Stay

Hotel was super clean. Breakfast was fantastic. Good location for tourist. It is close to Bandelier and Valle Caldera. The only negative thing I have to say is that the front desk staff is not the most friendliest.

While its not in Los Alamos, I preferred staying in White Rock. Closest hotel to Bandelier National Monument. Room was spotless, rate was good, staff (especially the breakfast lady) worked hard and it showed. This is not an old property and it was a great location to start or end a day at Bandelier. There's not much else out there though. (FYI- just south of the hotel there is a Smith's Market; the room has a frige and a microwave. The Pizza Hut next door is gone).
