On business for one night, I was generally pleased with the Hampton Inn Jacksonville NC. The rooms were very clean. Bedding was awesome with three big pillows per bed. The sitting area and TV/cable set up was convenient. I really appreciated the full size ironing board and iron since I needed to address my uniform after unpacking. Lot of hot/cold choices for the free lobby breakfast with newspapers. The only downside was the smell of stale cigarette on entering the room. After I turned the air ventilation system on, I didn't seem to notice. Still a good place to stay in Jackonville, NC.

This was a one night stay that we found as we drove through the area. Our room was spacious and overall suited our purpose. The continental breakfast was decent, and the staff helpful. It worked for our quick stop.

We stayed at the Hampton Inn on the weekend of April 28th. When we arrived and opened the door to our room it reeked of stale cigarette smoke and stale alcohol. Our son stayed in another room there. He and his wife both smoke and they even said that the room reeked. The desk brought us an o-zone machine that did not help. The next morning after our complaints they managed to find us a no smoking room that was some better. However we felt that $283.00 that we were charged for this visit was outrageous. We have stayed in 35.00 a nite rooms that were in much better shape and definately smelled better. We do not intend to stay in another Hampton Inn. If this review is not posted I hope that the management who does read this will act upon it and visit this site for themselves.

I just stayed at the Hampton Inn, Jacksonville in mid-August 2006. Overall, I was pleased and plan to book this hotel again. I needed a room for two nights but they were completely booked for the second night when I reserved. So I got a King non-smoking for one night. The doors of the hotel are exterior, which I don't like, but because of a soccer tournament and a conference, this may have been the last room in Jacksonville. The front desk staff were very courteous and helpful. I walked away from the desk impressed after checking in, which doesn't happen often. The room was clean, the A/C worked well, they provided two firm and two soft pillows, and the shower worked very well (and had an adjustable head). I called down the next morning before I checked out to see if anything had become available. A room had opened up, but it was a Double Non-Smoking and my King had already been reserved. A cheaper rate was showing online (using the WiFi High Speed Internet access from Room #1) than the woman at the front desk had, so I booked Room #2 online while sitting in Room #1. Different staff person was also helpful, and told me they should have just continued my reservation instead of "making" me check out and in. Didn't matter to me, wasn't a hassle, but I appreciated her noting the faux pas. The second room was also clean and accommodating. There were a few hairs on the side of the tub which always gives me the skeevies, but I decided to overlook them. That was the only negative. The free continental breakfast was pretty nice: hot cereal packets, fresh and TASTY muffins and danish, pancakes and a few other things in individual microwaveable packages, juice, etc. Whenever I visit family in Jacksonville, I plan to stay at this hotel.

We had a wonderful one night stay. We normally stay at Hampton Inns when traveling but, this weekend we were unable to find a Saturday/Sunday night stay for the Holiday weekend. We stayed at a hotel on the same block which had terrible service. After an aweful night with the first hotel, we called Hampton Inn to see if they could accomodate us on our second night in town as we could not take the other hotels services one more day.
We were traveling with an Infant and called ahead. The front desk had a young man bring a crib to the room for us and, he assembled it prior to leaving the room. The room was extremely clean, the staff called within 5 minutes to see that everything met or exceeded our expectations.
Friendly, caring staff.
Clean Rooms, and convenient location made for a wonderful nights stay
