I stayed one night for business at the Hampton Inn Cedar Rapids. Our company's travel department booked the room for me.
The room was quite nice and seemed to be recently renovated. I've stayed in many Hampton Inns over the years and this one seemed to be a cut above, with more of a boutique feel to it (upgraded bed and bedding, better toiletries, etc). I hope it's a chain-wide trend.
The breakfast buffet was more than adequate. The staff was quite helpful and professional.
The hotel is located not far from the airport, near many of the businesses on that side of town. Several restaurants are within walking distance and there's a mall within 10 minutes drive.
There was some street noise, but not too bad.
Overall, I recommend this hotel. I will stay there again if business brings me back to Cedar Rapids.

My two daughters and I stayed two nights here to attend a family baby shower. The room was very clean and comfortable. I was impressed by the cleanliness of the place. The complimentary breakfast was extensive and very tasty; it included items typically found on a continental breakfast menu, cold cereal, fresh fruit, coffee, milk, and juices but also fresh biscuits, hot ham and eggs for a breakfast sandwich. We would definitely consider this place for our next visit to Cedar Rapids!

Half way decent room, checked in at midnight. Went in the bathroom to brush my teeth, sink filled up with water because of a plugged drain. Too tired to go to the desk.
Mentioned the fact that the sink in my room was plugged to the desk clerk upon check out the next morning.
His response? "Sorry 'bout that."
Oh yeh, I'm going to sent $100 a night to stay here again.

I was concerned about this hotel after reading a negative review here, so I called them. I read what the reviewer said over the phone and asked about cleanliness. They said they pride themselves on their cleanliness and didn't know what the writer was referring to. We stayed there over Memorial Weekend, and it was great! There are cute little touches in the room atmosphere, it was clean and comfortable, and the staff was very helpful -- for all of our questions and needs.
I would definitely stay there again. And if you're interested, there is a gas station/mart within a block or two which stocks The New York Times and the Chicago Tribune.

Room although "cleaned" by the staff was incredibly dirty. Hair on the bathroom floor and dustbunnies in the corners of the room. Staff was rude and lazy.
