If there is one thing hotels are known for, it is hard mattresses. Until now. I just SANK into the bed at the Hampton Inn Butte! The duvet was soft and luxurious as well. If I'd have been able to, I would have laid there and never gotten up! Sooooo comfortable, especially after a long day of driving!
We got adjoining rooms, but we learned very quickly that the doors were spring-loaded and would shut on their own. We had to prop them open with items so that they wouldn't shut. That was somewhat of a pain, but people without adjoining rooms won't have to worry about that.
Breakfast was OK. I've seen better, and I've seen worse. There were some protein options to choose from, which is always nice at a complimentary breakfast like this.

Lots of amenities for a more or less budget motel: well equipped rooms (excellent beds and linens), free in-room WiFi and free access computers in the business centre, complimentary breakfast plus cookies in the evening, small but good exercise room (treadmill, bike, machine), pool. Front desk staff have very pleasant attitude and genuinely helpful.
Butte is an odd place but worth a visit. Hampton Inn is in the main commercial area, but a short drive to the old uptown area. On same street as Hampton Inn (Harrison Ave) try Pork Chop Johns for Butte specialty, pork chop sandwich: fast food that's made to order and tastes good--incredibly cheap too. Directly opposite Pork Chop Johns is Shepards Candies, very friendly store selling their own handmade chocolates/candies. Delicious!

This is a relatively new Hampton Inn. The staff couldn't have been nicer. The guest laundry is right by the lobby so you have someplace nice to wait for the washers and dryers. We asked for a recommendation for dinner and we got a good one including free drink coupons.

Butte isn't the prettiest part of Montana to begin with and we were there during forest fires--it was smoky and the famous 'big sky' was nowhere to be seen. So it was especially nice to have a safe, clean hotel to stay in. The front desk staff was fairly pleasant and the room was very clean and comfy. The bed and linens were great and the shower was strong and had plenty of hot water. There is a free continental breakfast and coffee is always available in lobby. Free internet access in lobby (not just wi fi). Plenty of easy parking on site. Not much walking to be done near hotel as it's on busy and ugly Harrison Ave. But there are some good hikes close by. The hotel staff wasn't very helpful with recommendations for day hikes, so make sure you do your own research.

I stayed at this hotel in Butte for months (business travel). I was reading the other review about rodents and windows not opening - I did not experience that at all (although one of our work team did have a tick in her room, they moved her). I found the rooms very comfortable and much better than I expected to find in the area. They have put in new mattresses which are very comfortable. I did open my window numerous times for fresh air. The rooms above are a bit noisy (footsteps) so if you can get 3rd floor that is quietest, especially on the back of the hotel.
It was not a perfect stay - cleaning staff often failed to stock coffee which resulted in a trip to the front desk. But, overall a nice place, comfortable, and the breakfast is actually convenient and good compared to other places I have been. Let's remember we are not talking 5 star accomodations - but very clean, very comfortable, etc. If the room was noisy I just slept with the tv on quietly and never had a problem. The staff was very nice, and we were there weekly for several months. I would easily recommend the hotel and stay there again.
