We had a lovely honeymoon in Prague and plan to return in March for a weekend break. We were picked up by hotel at the cost of 850czk which was only an extra 200czk than a taxi and worth it to start our honeymoon with something special. The honeymoon suite was great, we had a lovely living area with brown leather furniture and plasma tv, the bedroom was lovely with rich and heavy fabrics, again another plasma with a couple of english channels and a computer point. We had two bathrooms, one had a shower, sink and toilet etc which was lovely however we had a second bathroom that was carved from the rock, it had a lovely fire and jacuzzi bath with colour therapy exactly what was needed after a day of exploring. The location was great as you are within walking distance to all attractions.

This hotel has many good features – comfortable rooms, luxurious touches, good location, interesting artwork, a first class kitchen (judging from the breakfast), friendly and helpful staff (not always the case in Prague).
BUT it really needs renovations, as the d?cor, carpeting etc. are showing their age. (This possibly explains so many rave reviews, as they were mostly from a few years ago.) It is surprising in light of this that it is still in the “Small Luxury Hotels of the World” association.
Also, most rooms look onto a thoroughfare; an extra layer of window effectively shields the noise, but this means the windows can’t be opened. During our February stay, the room was overheated and there seemed no way to cool it down.

I stayed at the Hoffmeister in early January with my mother and aunt. The three of us shared a room, a suite which was spacious although one of us had to sleep in the sitting room area in a cot style bed. The hotel itself is a little dated for my taste, but very clean, and filled pleasant, friendly staff who absolutely danced attention on us the entire time we were there. This may have been because the hotel was almost empty. I counted 8 guests in total ....... I realise that January is not peak tourist season.
The hotel organised a driver to pick us up from the airport and then to take us back again at the end of our trip which was appreciated. The rooms had excellent bathrooms, we had a spa which was music to my feet after days of walking around the city on cobblestone streets.
The Hoffmeister is situated at the side/base of Prague Castle- very handy, although you can get much closer to Charles Bridge if that's what you're after. We took advantage of the Wellness Spa on our last morning which was lovely, although I found the manager not quite as lovely to deal with.
All in all a nice experience, I'm not sure if I would place it as a Small Luxury Hotel of the World (which it claims to be) however it was an overall pleasant stay in a very beautiful city.

Stayed in the hotel Aug,31-Sep,5/2007. The location is great – close to everything: Prague Castle – 10 mins, Charles Bridge – 20 mins, subway/tram – 3 mins. A very nice and cozy place with a touch of good taste and elegance. Many artworks of A.Hoffmeister are the real masterpieces. A very good breakfast – salmon, fried eggs, cereals, lots of fruits and vegetables, cheeses, meats, pastries, even Champaign. The hotel staff was very helpful.
The tip: if you'll book a cab to/from airport through the hotel it will cost you 800 c.s (~$40), the AAA (has nothing to do with the American Auto – just the name of a cab company) will charge you 400 c.s.
The beer in the bar is overpriced, bust tastes great!

Lovely hotel but noisy traffic and mostly indifferent staff - fantastic chef

Having previously stayed at the Savoy in Prague, we thought we'd have a change. The hotel is good for tram connection to almost anywhere. The rooms are lovely with jacuzzi and basically all mod.cons. However, apart from the restaurant manager, a couple of delightfully helpful waitresses, one male receptionist and the sommelier the hotel staff were not helpful and actually were quite rude and indifferent. A complete contrast to the Savoy.
Food in evenings could be classed as sensational - beautifully presented. Breakfast O.K. but not outstanding.
Spa and spa staff professional and very helpful.
The hotel is situated by a very busy road (the price you pay to be nearer the centre) but the noise of traffic whilst eating and trying to sleep(albeit with the windows open which we did not HAVE to do as there was air-con) was phenomenal. Police cars etc. make one hell of a noise as do the continual traffic and trams.
We would definitely return to eat in the ADA restaurant but would prefer not to stay. Trying the Aria and Alchymist next - watch this space!
