Ich möchte nur kurz die Bemerkung meines Vorredners bestärken - ich war hier im November 2006, es ist zwar ein Hotel ohne jeden Schnick-Schnack, aber es war sehr sauber und schön dargestellt, Die Zimmer waren hell, gut ausgestattet und verfügten über all die üblichen Annehmlichkeiten. Der Service war aufmerksam und am Empfang war man immer sehr, sehr hilfsbereit. Die Lage war sehr gut, direkt im Stadtzentrum und nur 10 Minuten vom Hauptbahnhof entfernt. Wenn ich in Zukunft noch einmal in Dortmund wäre, dann würde ich hier wieder unterkommen.

I'd just like to echo the comments made by the other user - I stayed here in November 2006 and although it is a no-frills hotel, the interior is very clean and nicely presented. Rooms were bright, well decorated and had all the usual amenities. Service was attentive and reception were always eager to help. Location was very good, right by the city centre and 10 mins from train station. I would stay here again if visiting Dortmund in the future.

The hotel is on a parallel street to Westenhellweg, the long pedestrian-only shopping street, and about 7 minutes' walk from the Hauptbahnhof. It has about 50 rooms and seems to be family run. The outside didn't look special (the sign could do with a wash) but inside was very clean and tidy. We don't always expect a particularly warm reception in Germany, but this was an exception and all the reception staff we met were friendly. The double room was excellent; large, with kettle and fridge, and good bathroom with separate bath and shower. Some of the single rooms seem to be smaller. Breakfast had a wider choice than normal, including bacon and sausages and an espresso machine, but was lacking in fresh fruit. We thought it was very good value at 87 Euro for a double.
