I have become a real fan of Hapmtons in the last couple of years. Great value . I am ususally traveling by myself, so the size of the room is no big deal. The Hampton in Austin has wired and wireless internet. I used the wired and the bandwidth was OK for streaming media, etc. I sleep in a waterbed at home and the beds at Hampton are the first "normal" hotel beds I have found that I can sleep on without waking up every 15 minutes. I also have a pillow fetish and they give you so many I have never had to call down for more..I stayed here for a convention and if you cut through an alley you can be at the convention center in less than 5 minutes. The free breakfast bar has everything from "healthy choices" to artery clogging ham and eggs. Managers "happy hour" features a local Bock beer as well as Bud Lite and several wines. Walked home about 10 blocks from an entertainment venue on Sixth Street without any concern for crime, and my radar is always up. Just a great place to stay if you don't need all the expense associated with a "full service" hotel. I also screwed up my reservation and made my checkout day one day early, and the front desk just extended my stay without any BS at the same discounted rate. As far as i am concerned, great staff, great amenities, great bed, great shower, etc.

I will not repeat the compliments paid by others who have stayed here. But I will say that I appreciated the pc and printer in the lobby allowing me to print my boarding passes before leaving for the airport. Every hotel should do this!

I usually write fairly thorough reviews. Except here I feel like it would be an echo. All of the other reviews are right on the money. This is really a great pick for any type of traveler that needs to be in downtown Austin. This place is NOT luxurious, but it's very clean, comfortable, and inviting. I would venture to say that this is probably the #1 rated Hampton property. I am generally not a fan on the Hilton family of properties, but I would definetly return here anytime. The only negative I can think of, is that some of the towels in my room were a bit old and frayed. You'll be happy here.

This is a great hotel: Room: Stayed in a King Studio - very comfortable with a sink, fridge, microwave etc. Excellent bed. All it needs is an in room safe. Staff - Very helpful for anything at all Facilities - Many things are free. Breakfast is OK but could do with eggs. Location - very good location. Only minus is the fact that you cannot self park at the hotel. But the valet staff are very good. I would stay there again if I went back to Austin.

I was really impressed by my stay at this Hampton Inn. The location is great; the 'continental' breakfast includes hot items; the water pressure in the shower is perfect and the beds are comfy! The hotel feels new and modern. I would recommend a stay here.
