Just came back from Tibet, Stayed in Brahamptura Hotel. Expensive, but worth it.
Rooms are spacious, hot shower available, good service.Far away from all city noise. Buffet breakfast very good, included in room price. Recommended, the only way to stay ,if you can afford it.

We stayed 4 nights in this excellent comfortable Hotel. The reception greeting was great with music and local singers. We learnd later that this Hotel was the only in the world housing a museum. Indeed, on both sides of the corridors were displays placed containing old tibetan furnitures and different objects as well as on the 2nd floor a fully fledged museum was installed.
Very nicely furnished and comfortable rooms. Reasonable breakfast, but the evening buffet could have been better.
Of course, extraordinary service including an inhouse doctor who was quite helpful to some of our people in the group suffering from the altitude. I shall mention the excellent foot massage which was provided in the health center of the Hotel ( 88 yuan for 60 minutes) This was very helpful after visiting the Potala!

Stayed at this lovely establishment May 22-25, 2007. Have never received such as greeting as upon entering the hotel---a gauntlet of musicians and dancing girls from the front door to the registration desk! Rooms were newly decorated and well appointed. Customer service
levels were high---even though I know no Tibetean and only 1 word of Chinese, was always greeted by a smile by the young, exuberant, attentive staff who always managed to find someone to interpret my American English. The in-house doctor was an added bonus because I developed Acute Mountain Sickness shortly after my arrival. My recovery was speedy because I was able to have an oxygen machine in my room for 24 hours for only 300 yuan.
