We spent a really great weekend at Marks Hotel in June 08. It is really well located, close to lots of bars, restaurants, shopping and cultural spots. The only disadvantage with this is that if you are at the front of the hotel like we were it can be quite noisy until late, but we didn't mind so much as we came back pretty late ourselves! Although we couldn't check straight in, we left our bags at reception and came back later that afternoon. The rooms are spacious and clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful. They let us know about things that were on in the city each day which was handy as I had never been to Glasgow before. All in all a very enjoyable trip to Glasgow in a lovely hotel.

We stayed at the Mark Hotel for three nights in June and loved it. The hotel is clean modern and the staff were really pleasant. A reasonably priced very central hotel near all the sights and very close to the shopping areas. The willow cafe on Sauchiehall street was a bit of a disappointment and very expensive nothing like I had expected, it was above a jewellery shop Buchanon Street looked better but not the original. The hop on hop off bus is brilliant to see all the sites and the kelvingrove museum was superb. It is worth a look in the city chambers just to look at the marble staircase. We ahd a great time even though it rained constantly!!!

Stayed one night at the Marks Hotel, on a weekend break from Bournemouth. Very friendly welcoming. We arrived in the City at 9:00am and asked whether we could leave our bag and check in later, but we were allowed to check in there and then, which was a bonus. The hotel is ideal for the shops, train/bus station, restaurants and bars. The rooms have a strange decor, unfortunately our room was very warm and you couldnt open the window wide, but the main upside it was quiet. Flat screen TV and shower gel in bathroom, tea/coffee facilities. Great breakfast, hot or cold, very friendly/helpful waiting staff. Definately would stay again and recommend.

What I liked:
A lot of thought put into the design of the hotel and the rooms, felt like a nice little boutique hotel.
The breakfast was actually pretty delicious, with fresh fruits, pastries, cheese, yogurts etc. Also, an a la carte menu for those who prefer it.
The staff were accomodating in allowing us to check in early, and making all transactions efficient.
Location is fantastic. Right in the heart of Glasgow, with easy access to train station, but station and all the amenities of the city centre. Can't beat the location.
What I disliked:
Our room smelled like amonia/urine. Not sure which, but it definitely distracted from the funkiness of the room.
