We spent 5 nights at the Casa this past may. The hotel has some of the most amazing views you will find anywhere along the coast. The hotel was ultra modern, and thus very much to our liking. The staff was exceptional. We really enjoyed staying Praiano, away from the tourist mayhem of Positano. The restaurant across the street (i believe its called La Strada) was incredible Do get the table on the roof top terrace. Its a family run hotel, and all the food is home made. We ate there 3 times, and tried many of the dishes on the menu. Everything was very very good.
My only complaint with the hotel is the noise outside the rooms in the mornings. The rooms have zero soundproofing. When the cleaning staff starts doing their rounds in the morning, you can hear everything. The rooms themselves are fantastic. I am not sure why they would neglect something as important as soundproofing.
Overall an incredible stay. Will deffinetly be back.

We have spent 6 nights at this holiday to celebrate my 50th Birthday. The hotel has a lovely calming feel with a great ambience even the smell makes you feel relaxed. There was a mix up with the room booking but the Manager did everything in his power to resolve the situation and we were offered a suite down on the beach. One word of warning there were 200 steps from our room to the lift to get to the main area of the hotel. The drive down to the hotel was particularly scary and we found with 5 adults in the car we were unable to make it to the top. All the staff were extremely friendly.

There’s a lot to like about Casa Angelina, but if you’re looking for perfection you may be disappointed. Firstly, the good things: friendly, helpful staff, a great location with lovely views, good breakfasts and large, very clean bathrooms. Our driver was great and kept us entertained with all sorts of information about the area on our drive from the airport. The food at the restaurant was good, although not brilliant, and priced as you would expect ie. Fairly expensive.
If you were paying around 200 - 250 Euros a night, you might be delighted with this hotel, but if you’re paying 400+++ then you’d probably feel disappointed. You might also think it a little steep that breakfast is not included, or that the rooms are of a decent size, but not massive. The balconies, although having a super view, are far from private – I would suggest saving money on the room by not going for a big balcony and just lying at the pool terrace instead, which is perfectly nice.
With premium prices come premium expectations, and the two biggest let-downs for us were the very poor soundproofing, which had us awake at 6am when the cleaning/breakfast setting etc began. The tiled floors mean that those in the rooms above are clearly audible from the moment they get out of bed. We are not light sleepers, but without earplugs it really is difficult to sleep any later than 7am, which on holiday is not very relaxing.
Secondly, in some ways the rooms were victims of their own design. Pure white can be lovely, but when the lighting resembles an operating theatre, the ambience is lost entirely. Try as we might, we couldn’t dim the lighting to anything approaching relaxing or low-key. Even with only one light on, it’s still a very stark space. The curtain/blind over the door to the balcony didn’t work and the ‘wardrobe’ has no door, so the minute you’ve unpacked all semblance of ‘minimalism’ disappears.
Overall, we were happy enough, as we were well looked after, but if I returned to the very lovely Amalfi coast, I wouldn’t stay here again – not unless I happened to get the room for half price, anyway.

Casa Angelina is a clean, modern, and luxurious hotel that sets itself apart from other hotels on the Amalfi coast. I recently stayed for 4 nights in late May. We had booked the Canopy room but were upgraded to a larger room with a balcony upon arrival. The hotel is exactly like the pictures portray. I found the service to be excellent as a couple small problems we had were immediately responded to (the phone was hung up and someone was at our door within 2 minutes). Recent complaints from a prior post regarding sound issues and lighting were not found to be true. I'm typically very conscious of sound and we did not hear anything despite being on the first level right by a high traffic area for maintenance people. what made this hotel so special, outside of its luxury and views, is its location in Praiano. the town is wonderful only a short 5 minute walk up the cliff (approx 50-75 steps). the stores and restaurants all seem to be family operated and thus provide a true feel for the italian culture (more so than touristy towns like Positano and Amalfi). for those concerned about the breakfast not being included, i suggest walking into town, purchasing hot/fresh croissants and/or anything else you need. i did this numerous times for under 5 euro for both my wife and i. in comparison to the over priced breakfast offered at the hotel, this method is much better both for price and quality of food. we did not eat the hotel restaurant for dinner because we thought the restaurants in Praiano and other towns would be superior.
as far as seeing other towns along the coast, the hotel provides a shuttle to positano for free. the bus is very easy to use for a return if you stay at night or any other time when the shuttle isn't running. Casa Angelina even set up a free trip to Ravello one night while we were there which was also very nice. the walk down to the "beach" is not worth it but you should try it once just to see. i used driveamalfi for transportation from the train station in naples. i highly recommend them and would suggest asking for robert if you do so. i wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to people in the future - it was an excellent stay.

We stayed at this hotel during our honeymoon in May of 2008. The hotel is set about 1/4 mile down into the cliffs of praiano. We stopped at the top of the driveway since our drive (in a Mercedes Sedan) didn't want to drive down the down the steep road with two gigantic hair pin curves. So, we were picked up by Casa Angelina's lovely golf cart. At the bottom of the drive lies a chic boutique hotel decorated modestly in all white with small splashes of colour in its glass and muraled wall. Our room was ready even though we checked in an hour early. We were greeted with chilled almond milk (a local drink) and were given a private tour of the facilities. We stayed in a Canopy room without a balcony but had excellent views of the bay and Positano. While we were there, the hotel arranged for a private scooter/vespa rental. My husband and I enjoyed riding to and from the little villages and Praiano was situated perfectly to do just that. The highlight of the stay was the hotel's restaurant. Unlike other reviewers, we found the restaurant to be reasonably priced with an exquisite menu and superior service. The amuse buche was a zucchini flower filled with cheese and dipped in tempura then fried - it was excellent. Since I was a little under the weather, the chef prepared a simple flavoured dish for me - sea bass with grilled vegetables - it was excellent. The only negative would be, as others have mentioned, the stairs to get down to the rocky beach. It's definitely worth the hike and the trail has several little spots to stop and rest should you need a break. We will stay here again when we return to the Amalfi Coast.
