We stayed at the Punta Prima Prestige Suites for a week half-board at the end Aug/early Sep 2006.
Accommodation was first rate - we booked a Family suite. It was technically a 1 bedroom suite (King size bed for us, good sofa beds in the living area for the kids), but large sliding doors separating the bedroom/living area meant you could open the whole suite out during the day and have 2 bedrooms at night. It also had a fridge, sink and small hob all tastefully hidden away behind floor to ceiling folding doors.
There were 2 bathrooms, the main one just off the bedroom had a whirlpool bath (fill it with water, some bath gel, toddlers, turn it on and see if you can find your kids!), and an excellent powerful multi-jet shower.
The large terrace was the full width of the suite and had doors from the living area and from the bedroom. This meant at night we could sit out taking in the great sea view without disturing the kids.
As our kids were still in prams, it was great that everywhere was accessible by ramps or lifts - everywhere except the upper floor of the accommodation blocks. Our suite was on the ground floor (possibly by design, possibly by luck) so it wasn't an issue.
Aside from meal-times (the food really was excellent) we used the facilities at the attached Punta Prima Insotel Club. During the days we spent on resort we found the pool at Prestige was excellent for older kids and adults, but toddlers needed constant attention. The Insotel Club had a couple of very safe toddlers pools which they couldn't easily escape from or come to harm in.
There are also tons of sport facilities (numerous tennis courts, free mountain bikes, basketball, football etc etc) and the animation team were always keen to get people involved.
In the evening, the bar at the Prestige was very adult oriented (and would be excellent for a chill-out), but all the family action (mini-disco, kids show etc.) was in the main hall in the Insotel Club.
All in all we would definitely go back for a relaxing break, but a hire car was a must to make the most of Menorca. Punta Prima itself was a little quiet and the exposed beach (about 5 mins walk away from the side entrance to Prestige) was best avoided on breezy days. There are numerous great beaches on the island though.
There is a great view of the resort from Google Earth as it is so large. Go to the southernmost point on the island (thats Punta Prima) and find the chess-board patterned buildings furthest right of the deep beach. They form the right hand boundary of the Insotel Club, and the Prestige suites are the group of 9 buildings and pool in the bottom left-hand corner near the road.

baby's first holiday

this was our first holiday with baby finlay (7months old)
with only a two hour flight from birmingham it was an ideal first flight
on arrival 10.15 am we were able to enjoy a late breakfast whislt our room was being checked and all was ready with the pre booked baby equipment in the room .note baby nappy bins no longer available but an extra bin was put in the room for us and was emptyied twice a day and the cot was clean and safe.
on a whole the hotel was very quite being the end of sept start of oct with just younger family's present all with a baby or toddler .
the food for a 5 star hotel was the only thing that let it down the cooking was very good with the open show style cooking in the centre of the restraunt but the menu was lacking and the 6 main meats and fish dishes were repeated at least twice during one week stay.Saying that we all eat well and the staff were all very helpful and would even belnd up some vegtables for our baby .
we had excellent views from our room (for a standard view room)looking down the garden and out to sea.but the thomson brochere makes it out to be on the beach whilst it looks out to sea, the beach is out of the grounds across the road and past a few local shops only a couple of mins stroll. we only checked the indoor pool out in the beach club and had it all to ourselves worth a visit with its adults only relaxation suite
would we return only if we could get it at a lower price

came back from the resort 7th of October. What can i say anyone who is thinking of going here the accomodation is fantastic the service is excellent, apart from mardy on reception. The resort is very quiet and scruffy.
The rooms are very large and kept very clean and the facilities first class. We had a family suite for two of us for under £800.00 so shop around there are bargins. Would i go back again yes if they picked the accomodation up and put it in Cala n Bosch.
