Pretty nice property setted in a great location right in front of the San Gimignano hill.
Unfortunately the service cannot be deemed "4 stars".
Breakfast buffet is very very poor and at 9:30 a.m. is already empty even if the breakfast time runs until 10:30 a.m.. Only one person to serve coffees and capuccinos was absolutely not enough for the 50 persons in the breakfast room, so we hawe waited 20 min. to get our (cold) espresso.
There is a shuttle service which connect the hotel and the town centre, but there is no driver, so is the front office agent who has to leave the duty to drive you th San Gimignano. No way to have the service to come back to the hotel.
SPA extremely expensive for the kind of tretments offered.
Might be better to consider this hotel a good 2 stars one...

What a huge disappointment ...we stayed at what was "La Cappucina" several years ago and it was magnificent ...it was a converted monastery and was absolutely charming. Apparently, new owners, decided to "improve" it two years ago ...they demolished most of the original structure, and built a new modern hotel building ...the new building feels (and looks) like an office building ...it was such a huge disappointment ...the charm and romance of the place were completely demolished, along with the old buildings.
In a word, awful !!!

We spent three nights in this picturesque, tranquile setting. The hotel is very modern, with very helpful staff. The shuttle bus was available anytime we wanted. The food was great and you definately get what you pay for. It is secluded and a most relaxing place to spend a few nights offering great access to nearby treats.

Stayed at this hotel for 6 nights in July 07 and would say that overall it was a very positive experience. On the plus side, the setting is amazing, it has spectacular views. The hotel was really clean, the pool area was great and the room sizes were excellent. The only criticism is that although the setting is great, you are probably 2 - 3 kms outside San Gimignano and thus you need a car to get anywhere. You can't stroll into town of an evening, particularly as part of the route into town doesn't have a pavement. There is a shuttle bus but it didn't move the whole of our stay and when we asked if we could use it we were told no, it was too late in the day, even though it was only 6.30pm. However, if you don't mind driving everywhere then this hotel is a good choice.
