We arrived at almost 10pm but the staff were happy to check us in and get us into their restaurant for dinner. The food is excellent, by the way...try the caprese salad. All the staff were friendly and out of our 4 hotels in Italy, this was the only one that we never heard any disturbances in our room. The floor we were staying in was full, but either the rooms are well-soundproofed or the guests just happened to be that quiet. The views around the hotel are gorgeous, and after a couple days in Firenze it was nice to see stars and be seranaded by frogs and owls instead of tourists and ambulances. It's a little off the beaten path but it's a good platform for visiting San Gimignano, Volterra, Siena, etc.

We came to the Casafrassi for a 5 day wine tour through tuscany for our honeymoon. It must have been during the off season because the restaurant was closed, but the breakfast was good. There were only a few other guests there, but that was fine for us. The room was quaint and clean, the housekeepers were meticulous and came every day even though we told them they didn't have to. The staff was friendly and helpful with directions since we were driving to wineries all over the region. I would definitely stay there again! The hotel is only about 15 minutes from Siena that has great restaurants and some touristy things. Castellina in Chianti is a very quaint town that has a lot of good places to eat also. We loved it!

After reading the first two reviews, I find it hard to believe we stayed at the same place. Our stay was quiet and the room was charming. I saw no hint of tour buses anywhere. The guests that we encountered were very satisfied with the hotel. I will admit that the folks at the reception desk were a bit cool, but not rude. We ate at the restaurant on our first night. It was good but not great. We met one of the owners and she was quite nice. I would highly recommend this place to anyone! The location was convenient to other towns and wineries. In fact, the people at the front desk helped us in planning a day of wine tasting.

The views were nice and the room was clean, big enough. The bed was very hard - you could tell that by looking at it. Overall, we enjoyed the place, but it had more to do with us. The first night, it was my husband and myself. We had dinner and the food was very excellant, nice night, full moon and the wine was very good. Perfect night. The next night, a friend had joined us and the hotel knew that we would have a third in the room (they made sure to charge us), however they hadn't made up the bed and I needed to deal with that. The food at dinner that night was awful. We had one dish that the night before was wonderful, was just terrible, some chef, but drunk??? The waiter was mean when he thought we just wanted drinks, before we ordered dinner. We tried to explain and he did come back and make nice. However, after dinner the three of us, sat outside with some wine we had picked up that day and enjoyed it until 1:30 in the morning. We all enjoyed that - good friends, wine, full moon, nice weather - perfect. Would I stay there again - no. I didn't see anyone that was going out of the way to be nice. Also, if your drink menu lists a mojito, you need to be able to make them even if you don't want to - both nights, two different people and it wasn't that they didn't have the mint - they were too busy to make them and shared that with me!
