just got back from a weeks stay at the cala blanca hotel. i read the reviews on here before i went and was really worried but i needn't have been. the staff were helpful and friendly and the food was great, there was so much choice. probably 7 or 8 main dishes to choose from along with lots of cold meats, cheeses, salads etc etc. the food was varied each day and was freshly cooked and whenever a tray seemed to be running low another was freshly cooked straight away. the beer did seem a bit thin at times but still tasted good and there was never really any more than one or two people in the queue as the bar staff were quick and eficient. they served you plastic glasses if you were outside by the pool understandably incase of breakages and all drinks were served in glasses inside the bar area.
the entertainment was pretty good. we had a good magician, some argentinian dancers, a contortionist and some entertaining shows put on by the hotels own entertainments team who never seemed to tyre. the beach was a few hundred yard stroll down the road and was small but not overcrowded.
there's a bus stop right outside the hotel and the busses run frequently into the busier capitol of Ciutadella and only cost 1.40 euros (just over a quid) . so overall i had a very enjoyable stay at this hotel. don't believe all the bad reviews would be my advice.

We booked this holiday very last minute and wanted somewhere peaceful and relaxing.. that is exactly what we got! Hotel Cala Blanca was perfect for what we wanted-Spending time with my partner, catching some rays and taking evening walks.
The staff were excellent, really friendly and helpful. Entertainment was good and something for everyone. The food was good and a decent choice for all.
Met some great people as a small hotel, so people tended to mingle in the evenings which was great.

Just me and my husband stayed at this hotel for a week and got what we thought we quite a bargain. Hotel is a bit dated and shabby but is very clean. The staff are very friendly and hard working. Food was ok could usually find something we liked but it did tend to be a bit repetitous pork chops and veal every day. Oh and chips with every meal. Good selection of salad and fresh seafood too. We did not participate in any of the entertainment which was not really our thing. Some of the guests were a bit chav and loud but were not too much of a problem plus I don't think they would visit again because the resort is very quiet so don't visit if you are a party animal. Do take the bus into Cuitadella and eat tapas (delicous) and drink coffee in one of the little cafes. Get lost wandering round the little narrow streets and get a real feel for Spanish life.
Overall not bad but doubt if we would go back to the same hotel unless DIY SOS paid a visit first!

this hotel i would not advise to anybody because the only thing that was good about it was the entertainment thats about it. the food was nearly the same everyday, there are millions of flies around and ants in the rooms and im talking millions. its a very old hotel not much ben done to it, at night they tell us to get out the bar at 12 so therefor have to go to bed like babies. its very quite around there so if you after peace and quite thats what u get. the positive thing about the hotel is the entertainers are brill !! so i would like to thank them for making my holiday a bit better so i would not really recomend this hotel to people .

Stayed at this hotel 22nd Sept 2007 my wife and I with my Daughter and son in law and their 2 young children. The food was very much the same each day. also the children had very little choice . we had to pay for icecreams, crisps bottles of water Apart from it being a bit dated the hotel seemed to cater for mostly Italians and older people were normally this is not a problem but! There were at least 50 to 60 there , they could reserve 40 seats in the dining room but we couldnt reserve 5 so this meant we had to wait for our meals even though they were not seated at the time. They had Ballroom Dancing every night and bingo from 8pm onwards there was nothing all for my 2 grandchildren age 19 months and 3 years old or the other children to do andmost of the english were complaining about one thing or another . When bingo and the ballroom dancing was on the children as they do would get on the floor sometimes or they as children do laugh and giggle at that young age so the spanish girls who do the entertainment would then put a record on called , oh so quiet ! for all the children there, it was rediculous so my daughter complained with other english families who had children and we were given quarter of an hour with 5 songs for the children to dance to do not get me wrong that 15 minutes was fantastic for the children in the hotel to dance and sing the 2 girls were great for fifteen minutes. but then it was back to ballroom dancing and bingo apart from 2 nights of shows. at 12pm it was then bedtime for all adults because you could not sit outside because or in the entertainmnt room as they locked all doors and turn all lights out,
And we then found out this hotel as a sister hotel in cala blosh which we wernt told about which was 100% better then this one and the area was for Children. To top of our holiday on the day we was coming home my daughter left 3 jackets in bathroom behind the door when she took the cases down and when she remembered them went back to the room and they had gone .So she ask if anyone had handed them to reception and was told no, so she then asked for a form so that she could report this and try to claim on her holiday insurance as they had gone in a matter of half or so she was told they did not have any forms so she then asked for a complaints form and aparently they did not have this also the receptionist was very indignet with us. We would not advise you to go to this hotel with kids in the out of season as this is what they told us it was, As they do not have a lot going on for children at all. Whether it is different in season we do not know. England
