Booked on Hotelbook.com and got a really good rate. the loaction of the hotels is fab but this "Hi-tech" hotel is probably only 3star material and service is somewhat limited. the room was dark and noisy, and the bed only had a single cover to the matress and then another single sheet over. Because this area of town is lively you need to be prepared for street noise throughout the night!
The bathroom in my room looked great bit was more style over substance and the shower instantly flooded the whole bathroom floor.
Breakfast (on 5ft floor) was generous but eggs looked as though they had sat their all night

The Sevilla Metro station is just around the corner. The Prado and train station are walkable in about 15-20 minutes. Starbuck's is across the street, and Gino's and VIP restaurants nearby are good. Alcala Torre service was good. Four of us stayed in a family room (with computer with free internet) for 3 nites.

Our view of what a four start hotel should consist of and the Alcala Torre management's view differ widely:
On checking in we weren't told that the hotel bar and restaurant were under renovation and that there weren't infact any facilities that would give this hotel a four start accreditation.
Our room was 312 - twin beds, We asked for a room with a doube bed but were told that 312 was a much bigger and better room: what a lie. The room is tiny, it has no view what so ever and is situated between a huge staff access door and the cleaning equipment room. Every morning at 7.30 a.m. we were woken up by the staff arriving and talking in loud voices outside our room as they prepared for their morning's work outside our room. The door made a loud creaking noise every time it was opened and banged shut - staff also used this door throughout the night.
One afternoon we returned from our excursions and the bathroom floor was covered in water as was the toilet!! Missing items from our mini bar that we hadn't drank, caused me to eventually complain.
We were offered a room upgrade. On asking what the difference was between our existing room and the upgraded room, I was advised that the difference was a trouser press!!! I pointed out that a trouser press wasn't the solution..
This "hotel" charges 4 star prices for accommodation and facilities that are better in most hostels where you'd pay only 60 Euros for a room per night. Avoid this hotel

This hotel has excellent location (metro station Sevilla is just on the corner, Puerta del Sol, Plaza Major and Gran Via are about 2-5 min by walk), but this its only main advantage. The property claims to be four stars, but I would except significantly more from such type of hotels. The rooms are tiny. The bathroom is located in the bedroom and is separated just by a glass curtain.
Though I lived on the top floor, the view to the backyard was awful, no sun at all. Moreover, currently there are some noisy construction works. Check this with the hotel when you book it.
The property provides laptop with free Internet access in every room which was nice and very convenient.

I went w/ a group of friends and we booked a family room. It was one large bed and 2 bunk beds. It was a nice hotel. The room is small, but it's Europe and that was expected. I did not experience the problems written in other reviews. The internet was as fast as Comcast cable internet, the room clean, the shower nice. The water didn't splash out much from the shower even though it looked like it would. The location is excellent- right next to the Sevilla metro. The staff speaks some English, and one of them printed us out a map of where to go. There's a free beverage stand from noon to 22:00 w/ juice, coffee, and water. We didn't go to the restaurant in the hotel b/c we didn't come to Madrid to eat at the hotel restaurant. I don't have any complaints about the place. The hallways look cool and light up as you enter. Only thing is, I probably wouldnt come here as a family w/ kids b/c the top bunk doesn't have a rail, but it was no big deal for us (group of people in their later 20's). I would stay at this hotel again.
