We visited the Sant'Antonio in 2004, 2005 and 2006. Then, it was a good place to stay and hence our return visits.
Last year, we stayed in another, new hotel in Alberobello (extremely good rate offered) before we got to the Sant'Antonio. We were pleased to see and meet with the previous Manager of the Sant'Antonio now working here.
Last week, we returned to the Sant'Antonio but NEVER AGAIN!
Refurbishment of the reception area means a steep climb of 20+steps (definately not for those with limited mobility) from the front rather than side of the 'hotel'; the air conditioning does not work - very difficult in temperatures of 35C+: breakfast was mediocre, although the lady serving breakfast was pleasant.
The new 'Manager' was rude and charmless.
On a good point - and the only one we could could find - the place is spotlessly clean.
Our visit to this lovely building last week was our last - I cannot recommend the Sant'Antonio any more.

We stayed here for 3 nights with our young child.
The rooms were modern, large and clean, the bathroom incl shower was good, unfortunatly an experience rarely repeated in Italian hotels we have stayed in.The breakfast was a typical Italian affair - a little sparse! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and the owner had some amazing photos on the walls that he had taken throughout Italy.
The location was fantastic, at the top of the small alleyways containing trullis. Walking distance(100m) to town with many restaurants, cafes etc.
