stayed here while attending the International Furniture fair at Pazhou complex.A little hidden gem if you do not expect a full western hotel....when in Rome.....
Food was superb, very cheap, service okay but lack of English can be a little bit of a problem.
All in all I found the service very good.
The rooms were of a good standard, cleanliness was good.
It is a little out of the way but is very handy to the exhibition complex.
The staff were very helpful.
very good value for money, but do not expect to stay in a western hotel....that it is not.

Stayed here 1-2May 2006.
Even local cab drivers unable to find main entrance. Had to alight iwth suitcase and walk across a barricaded caprark. Took several taxi trips, invariably hv problem with route.
It is 'faux palace' in a farmland strip about to be developed into a new town. A good part of lobby is used by developer as showroom for his new condo complex. The hotel seems merely a mockup for the estate.
No ABF, breakfast is in A,B or C menu card dished out in a smallish dim-sum restaurant!
Room n bathroom up to 4-star standard.
Inadequate slow elevators, in-the-middle-of-nowhere location - avoid it for the next 3 years until area is developed.
The 80-m distance to nearby MTR station is the biggest scam - more like 800-m trekking thru side lanes.

This hotel is definitely not for Westerners.
Even though it is rated as a 5-star hotel it is at best a 4-star that does not cater to the Western guest. At the height of the busy season, during the Canton Fair, they did not have their Western restaurant open and few hotel staff spoke English well enough to get by.
While the hotel is located within 15 minutes by bus of the new Exhibition centre, it is not close to any restaurants, malls or any other attractions and everything is at least a 30 minute taxi ride.
I would not stay at this hotel again nor would I recommend it to anyone else.
