I found on ratestogo some cheaper rooms (about $50-60), and decided to give it a shot. Well, these rooms are in 'Building B' and are similar to a college dorm room. They were clean but located outside of the main building, no elevator, everything smelled like smoke. I refused to stay there once I arrived and saw them. The nicer rooms (I ended up paying a discount rate of about $85) were not bad. Very clean, nice decor, but they were quite warm. The A/C never cooled the room below 23C (74F). The hotel staff was helpful and responded to our concerns, but could do very little about the temperature. I would not stay there again.

I stayed there for 1 week in November 2006 on business.
First of all the hotel looks great, but there are some problems, after a 20hour flight I was looking forward to get som rest, but what happend? the beds was like sleeping on the floor. Can't [--] beleive it, terrible. And when having a meeting in the lobby "cafe" a random waitress claimed that we had to buy something to sit there, so [--] rude. Can't stand that hotel one more time. And btw learn english.

I stayed at the Poly Plaza for 5 nights in July, 2006, during a business trip to Beijing. The experience was average. Rooms were clean and relatively comfortable. The breakfast buffet was not especially good or good value, but the small dim sum and noodle restuarant in the lobby was a better option. Location was quite good, near the subway and situated on one of the ring roads. There are also several good restaurants within walking distance or a short (distance, not time!) cab ride away, but you will need some local direction to find them. Recommended hotel.

Poly Plaza is in a very good location. The subway (metro, tube) is litteraly right outside the door. You can get a taxi just outside the hotel (the doorman will assist you). The hotel has all the things you would need (couple of restaurants, spa, theatre, currency exchange etc). Staff very helpful and rooms are very nice and clean. Would stay again.

I stayed at the Poly Plaza Hotel with my husband for the period March 23 to 28 this year. When we were there, the weather was great and we were happy that the hotel we chose was equally fantastic. The room was super clean and of good size. The beds were comfortable. The room had everything you need: slippers, toothbrush, toothpaste, hair brush, shower cap, a fringe, a safe, etc. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Since our booking included daily breakfast, we enjoyed a delicious buffet breakfast every morning before we headed out for our adventures. The hotel is situated in a very convenient location. A subway station is right outside the hotel. We enjoyed our stay in Beijing as well as the hotel and we will definitely go back when we visit Beijing again.
