After a holiday in Tuscany, we had a red-eye flight out of Pisa and so had to stay overnight in town. The Bologna Hotel was well priced and central, but most importantly had a triple room. We have a 3 year old and a baby and the Bologna had no trouble accommodating us. In fact the cot was one of the nicest I've seen, with lovely linen. The room was spacious and the bed very comfortable, although I didn't sleep that well as I left the air conditioning on and got a bit cold (my fault!).
As we had to leave before breakfast, the hotel kindly made us up breakfast bags and we had them on the plane.
The staff were very helpful, even down to sending on my baby's dolly we left in her cot in the hurry to get out.

My wife, daughter and I had a lovely stay at the Bologna. The rooms were spacious and modern. The staff were very helpful. The location was perfect - close to the tower, train station, airport and city centre. Very good value and great breakfast.

I arrived in Pisa on my own, very tired, after a long journey, and frustrated from not being able to print out my ryanair boading pass anywhere. I've been in Pisa several times before, so I walked from the train station. It is an easy walk, but the area immediately around the station is pretty grotty. Even though, it was daytime, I was a bit more mindful than usual of who was around me.
However, this quickly changes when you cross over the big roundabout on to the via Mazzini and into a much nicer section of town.
The Hotel Bologna is in a lovely old building, easy to find. Immediately I was impressed with the welcome and friendliness of the staff. I think that was one of the best things, but so often is not the case. The lovely girl at the desk, immediately directed me to the hotel's guest internet facilities and offered maps of the city. Another lovely porter arrived swiftly to show me to my room. I also arranged for the hotel shuttle to take me to the airport in the morning for ten euro.
The room was a single, so fairly small, but very well appointed, everything worked perfectly. It was very clean and had wide screen TV. Bathroom was perfect, but only a shower, which I like, but maybe a problem for some.
The location is perfect, in a lovely area, close to everything, but also quiet. Pisa is a lovely city, beautiful architecure to admire, and as it is also a university town, there is a fun buzz and great shopping and restaurants. Actually, the restaurant right across the street from the hotel was very good and also very friendly.
In the morning, the breakfast was plentiful, included scrambled eggs and bacon, which is unusual in an italian hotel. My only complaint was the coffee, not good.
I would heartily recommend the Hotel Bologna for the weary traveller or for someone starting off around gorgeous Italy. I will certainly be back...

We stayed that hotel for 3 days after we came back from rome. its a very nice hotel. its located close to the train station so we decided to walk the way which would of taken us 5 minutes but we got lost. nevermind...lol
the hotel is very nice decorated, great breakfast room and our room was nice as well. even though the bathroom was very small. the room had a flatscreen tv, watercooker for coffee or tea and air conditioner of course. the window view was ...not there. we had to look on a kind of roof. the breakfast was very nice. bacon, eggs, cakes everything you need really...but not more. the staff was very friendly. they gave us maps of pisa for free. also we got recomended to visit florence by train. the hotel is located in a quite small street, not the prettiest but hey, you are in pisa, not on tenerife or mallorca.
the center is just round the corner. and the tower is only 10 minutes walk away. we took the shuttle bus from the hotel to get to the airport, which cost us 12 euro for 2 persons.

The room was small, had no real window and most of all was very very noisy. I had very little sleep due to the contact noise from the people above, leaving early for a flight I presumed, or having to listen to the man next door going to the loo!
Breakfast was not great either, although the section was large the standard was poor and I only managed to eat some tinned peaches!
The shuttle to the airport was okay, but the driver in the car in front of us smoked the whole way!
I would not recommend, even for a one night!
