Good value business hotel

I stayed at this hotel on business for 2 nights in May.
The rooms are a good size and very well furnished. Bathrooms are spacious and very futuristic. As with the rest of the hotel, the rooms are kept very clean.
As others have commented, facilities include a large flatscreen TV, and laptop in every room - you may need to get a log-on from reception, but access is free.
The hotel restaurant is open in the evening, but the choice of dishes is limited - although prices for a hotel were reasonable. Although this is a business district, there are some good local restaurants within 5 minutes walk.
I found breakfast excellent, with a tremendous choice of fresh items (cold and hot).
My one complaint was the rooms air-conditioning. Despite checking the settings, there was no way I could get the room down to a comfy temperature.
Overall, this is an excellent good value hotel. It was recommended to me by colleagues, all of whom have found it a reliable choice. It is do-able as a hotel for leisure travellers, but be warned that you will have a bit of a journey into the central tourist areas.

Was very pleased with my stay at this hotel; my family and I had booked for a long weekend and were v.impressed with both the location of the hotel and the internal decor (as well as the price of the stay may I add). It is very modern, v.clean and the rooms are of a good size. A few things on the downside - the walls are paper thin, the ladder on the bunkbeds was a tad unstable so no good for boisterous young children (say, under 6) and, for a family, there is not enough storage. On the plus, the staff were very efficient, the free internet access is a plus along with the satellite access on the tv (sad, but true)!
I must add though, contrary to the hotel's details, the hotel is not 5 minutes by car from the airport, more like 20 minutes and that was with a clear road, and the free shuttle - which was excellent especially when you have a 6am pick-up time - only picks up/drops off at the airport, nowhere else.
The metro station is about a 5-10 minute walk - good - and there are a few restaurants about 3 minutes walk away - which you wouldn't know if you didn't ask!
There are about 4 playgrounds right in front of the hotel which is great for young children and a bonus after you've done a day's walking round the sites of Madrid for the children to wind down before retiring back to your room.
I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Nice hotel but lacking in certain areas

I stayed in this hotel when it was fairly new in Apr 2006. Let me start by saying that the service was excellent and the rooms are exactly as they look online. The contemporary design is fabulous. The location on the other hand left a lot to be desired because it was so far off from everything else. My boyfriend and I were there for 2 weeks and we spent a fortune on cabs! Also the beds were terribly hard (personally) on my back. After about 3 days there I was plagued with terrible back pain. I ended up requesting more pillows and spreading them on the bed and sleeping on them every night to ease the discomfort. My overall stay was just average and I personally wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone else but to each his/her own. The bed was probably perfect to someone else.
Business Hotel - Pleasant Stay with Minor Service Issues

The first thing about this hotel is I chose because it is in the heart of the business district. You will find the likes of Vodafone, BT and Telefonica within walking distance. If however, you requirement is for tourism then this hotel is too far away from the centre of Madrid. At least 30 mins from the airport at 34 euros for a taxi.
Back to the hotel itself, High Tech? Well yes this hotel looks very new and contemporary. The rooms are fitted with a modern shower with FM radio built in. Fixtures and fittings in the room are very slick. I was impressed with the room including flat screen TV. A HP laptop was provided in my room, I did not use it as I had my own but never the less a neat touch.
Service is where we start to some cracks. The first morning there was no hot water. A very cold shower is not my idea of comfort. I joined the queue of people complaining in reception. No real explaination was offered.
The breakfast which started at 7.00am was often not staffed until 7.15 - 7.30am so the hot breakfast elements were not available on time though yogurts, juices and the like were there for the taking.
The bar area was often unstaffed requiring you to go to reception every time you wanted a drink.
Generally the reception staff were friendly though just very laid back. There are no facilities to speak of such as pool or gym which might have made this better value.
Don't get me wrong these are relatively minor issues but they prove the point that no matter how good looking a hotel you have to get the basics right. Service is King.
In summary, I would stay here again specifically for business but for no other reason
