After agonising for weeks on Bangkok accommodation for my family- 2 adults and 3 teenage kids I finally decided ( in spite of their website which really does no justice to the property) to book 2 rooms- in fact 2 apartments interconnecting at Fraser Suites. As it was the first time the kids had been overseas I thought it was very important that the kids were in a good standard property.
Fraser Suites did not disappoint. The location is a bit off the main drag which was great as in fact proved to be an oasis of calm after a day of activity. We stayed for 3 nights.
We were on the 24th floor with views out over Bangkok- safe secure and extremely well appointed. The first evening after a walk around we had a bite to eat around the pool- which is off the restaurant- the food was great and reasonably priced- the staff there as in the reception area were very friendly. I had booked this direct with the hotel and they were generally very prompt in returning emails. Another bonus was the free internet in the business centre( for teenagers expecially!) We booked a tour through the hotel- and although it was more expensuve that one of the many tour operators around the city was a great experience with the kids blown away by the reclining Buddha and the golden temples! About 10 minutes stroll from the Nana skytrain which delivered us to MBK and the other centres in about 10 minutes. We actually found Central Shopping Centre great with some great restaurants on the 6th and 7th floors- we actually went back there to eat again as there was just so many choices. Be careful of the cabs- jumped in to one the hotel ordered - I wanted to go to Silom Village. After being taken for what ended up being a very long way around we were delivered to a seafood restaurant on the other side of town. Refused to get out then he delivered us to Patpong- finally talked into getting into 2 tuk tuks who assured and promised us we would be taken to Silom Village- again taken to the backblocks and yet another seafood restaurant. Pretty scary- for the kids especially. Then paid whatever it took to get back to the main road- this driver was again taking us to another one so Got out as soon as we hit the main road with teary kids. Then got into another cab- they really wanted to get back to the hotel- paid top dollar and then got pulled over by the police- the cab driver made my husband pay a fine for not wearing a seatbelt- we had the other 4 of us in the back seat!!!-the cash of course went straight into his back pocket. reckon the cab driver was just driving backwards and forwards past and on a kick-back!So scary stuff and would take care as it really tainted our experience. So ended up back at the hotel again for dinner in our safe haven! We also went on a canal tour which was an eye opener for the kids. Overall I would recommend highly.

Unexpectedly ending up in Bangkok for 3 months for work, we spent a bit of time at the beginning hunting for a place that we could call "home". We decided on Fraser Suites because of its fantastic location, the impeccable rooms and the lovely long pool. Now at the end of our stay, we are happy with the decision we made.
Location: On soi 11 Sukhimvit, close to BTS, restaurants, klong, shopping etc - this was perfect for us. This Fraser Suites is also not far from the freeway to the airport, so if youre travelling a bit, want to stay in Sukhmvit but dont want to have to battle interminable traffic every time you go to and from the airport, this is a perfect location. There were lots of people on crutches and in wheelchairs in this hotel - its close to Bumrungrad hospital, and we guess that people stay at Fraser while they are recuperating.
Service: The staff are amazingly friendly and helpful. This hotel is pretty new, and we think perhaps it is yet to see full occupancy, otherwise, how else to explain the personalised and timely service?
Facilities: Did i mention the pool? having a 20m pool to cool off in every day after a hard day in the BKK sun was fantastic. Its a lovely pool too - dark tiles and plenty of plants around the water keep the sun off and the water cool. The gym was good too, with everything we needed. There is a free shuttle to and from Nana BTS every day which is handy if youre not up to walking. Also, theres a sauna, and kids play room. Internet is available, but you have to pay. Its free in the restaurant.
Rooms: I like serviced apartments cause you get more space than hotel rooms. we had the cheapest room, but it was still ample in size, with a large bedroom, large living/dining room, kitchenette and huge bathroom - with massive bath and oversized shower. Really comfortable and clean. There were a few problems during our stay - one day the rain started seeping in through one of the windows, and a few plumbing problems occured, but they were fixed quick smart. Other features: washer/dryer, 2 flat screen tellys, DVD player, sound system...
Food: The hotel has a beautifully designed restaurant, and the food is pretty good too. The burger is great. There is hardly anyone ever in the restaurant - again, this hotel might just be getting going. The restaurant is right by the pool and has a pleasant atmosphere.
Cost: we contacted the hotel directly and they were able to give us a deal because we booked for such a long time. There are deals for people staying a week or more, so check their website. Just make sure you book Fraser Suites Sukhimvit - there is another one at Sathorn and its way more expensive!
Weve stayed at quite a few places in BKK, this one is our favourite so far for sure.

After a long flight from Australia - it was great to arrive at such a fantastic Hotel. The room is wonderfully appointed (granted - we stayed in the premier room) with all mod-cons. The rooms are very big, as is the balcony. This would definitely assist a business traveller as it's spacious, stylishly decorated yet comfortable. The lounge and bedroom had huge LCD TVs and the lounge had a fantastic sound system that we hooked our iPod up to - to play music in every room.
The location is great. Sukhumvit Rd markets and the Nana sky train (which is a few stops from MBK) are a 10minute walk down Soi 13 where there are about 10 (very) cheap restaurants. The hotel provided a free tuk tuk, which we used the first day - but with the traffic, it was easier to walk to the sky train. There is a 7/11 right across the road, and there are another 3 within a km. We didn’t eat there but the famous Supperclub was only a block away.
We didn't use the pool, but it looked fine. The buffet breakfast was perfect. The gym was on the small side, but had most of the equipment I needed.
The staff were incredibly friendly and helped me out a few times to call some restaurants when I wanted to make a reservation. I would highly recommend this hotel to business travellers, couples and I did see a play room for kids, so families too.
Great Place in Sukhumvit

Very nice place. Actually, mainly a large condominium tower with serviced appartments, which means it has lots of (free) parking space, in the unlikely case you come with your own car. Opened a few months ago. Had a large two room appartment for a price, at which you would otherwise get only a small room in a four star hotel. Impeccable clean. Nicely furnished. Large bathroom with rain shower.Nice pool area on the fifth floor. Well equipped gym with a view and two flat screens. Sauna still under construction.
Close to entertainment places like Q -Bar (not recommended), bed supperclub (better) and others.Taxi driver may not know place - it's behind the St. Moritz. Only drawback is the breakfast, which is average at best. Very friendly staff.

I have been living in Bangkok for around a month now and have had a chance to have a look at a huge number of serviced apartments in and around Sukumvit (the central area in Downtown bangkok ) before finalizing on Fraser Suites for my stay - for a couple more months.
Strategically located, with all amenities closeby, a very friendly staff, detailed to perfection design and good food ; Fraser suites was a great find for me and my family. It offers spacious and airy rooms with a beautiful view of the bangkok skyline. A separate children area , a complimentary tuk-tuk service to shopping areas / Skytrain stations , a very chic swimming pool, a full-fitted gymnasium and so on .. Fraser suites offers all comforts you expect from a typical 5 star property.
I would not have any second thoughts on recommending Fraser suites for my folks and family.
