Lovely decor, amenities and excellent location - just off San Marco Square. Nice continental breakfast.
Beware of offer for "free" water taxi transportation to the Murano glass factories. It's only "free" going to the island - after the fact, you learn you have to find and pay for your return transportation!!

Five of us (two adults, 3 teenage girls) stayed here for 3 nights in late September. The suite was HUGE and attractive. It was expensive but it was very centrally located by St. Mark's Sq. Breakfast was VERY good, quite a large choice of fruit, yogurt, pastries, cereal. Staff was helpful. Trip to Murano was included and we took it (unless you really want to splurge on expensive glass, I'd forgo it).
I'd stay here again.

Have stayed here twice before and always been really pleased but must say found this time a little disappointing, booked direct with hotel a Deluxe Suite the same as we have had before but on arrival I note we are actually in a Junior suite while still charged for a Deluxe, also there site does not allow you to enter number of children coming on trip just asks for the number of Adults so we assumed it would be as before that as long as you booked a room which had enough beds for the number in room would be ok, well apparently not and they charge 60 Eurossupplement per night for the child which when your staying for a longer break could be rather a lot of someones holiday budget! Breakfast used to be provided in the room of a self made variety which was simple but convenient if you did not want to rush out to breakfast each day but they now have it in the san marco palace restaurant which is pretty tricky to find so would recommend getting someone to actually physically show you where it is! One Flask of coffee was on the table which they periodically refill which meant every time we went down there one of us had to hand around for more coffee, rooms were adequately cleaned each day but quite often flannels etc were missing and we did not have a do not disturb sign which would have been handy due to the length of stay. on checkout due to an error they tried to overcharge us by 1100 Euros, nearly dropped from shock and was very relieved to have my paperwork on me stating the correct room rate

We stayed here recently with some family and had a fantastic time, the suites were beautiful and the staff made us feel very welcome. We did query why we could not have a iron in our room which they said was because of safety reasons, but they also could not iron our clothes for that evening until the next day!
The location was amazing and it was very easy to find, a tour on a private water taxi to Murano island was included and we consider this a highlight.
Venice is amazing and with our accomodation being so fantastic it is a great memory.

My family of 4 (kids aged 9 & 11) stayed here for 4 nights in late June. Our beautiful apartment was one of 4 or 5 in a separate building. There was no front desk in the actual building but it felt pretty secure nonetheless. The location is marvellous BUT it took us more than an hour to find it. We got to the street given on our e-mail confirmation to discover that the front desk check-in had relocated to another building that week. The directions were unclear and we traipsed around miserably in the heat trying to find it.
When we eventually got to the building housing the check-in desk the clerk was unconcerned that it had been so difficult to find and shrugged off my suggestion that an e-mail to confirmed guests advising them of the change would be helpful. We were lead off to another building a few minutes walk away. We were advised that breakfast was in yet another location - a hotel about a four minute walk away. The website does not give a fair impression of how very chopped up the various parts of the hotel are. The clerk told us to come to the desk the following morning and we would be shown to the breakfast facility.
When we showed up for breakfast we were given more bad directions and the (different) clerk declined to bring us as promised. We eventually found the breakfast room which is located in another hotel (a 3 star) owned by the same management. The breakfast would be OK at 3 star prices but it was pretty bad at well over 400 euros per night. The room was chaotic - we had to wait half an hour to even sit down and there was one overworked waitress trying to serve about 50 diners at one time. There was a fairly dull assortment of packaged toasts, cereals, vacuum packed croissants and juice made out of tinned concentrates. The coffee was astonishing - it's a real effort to turn anything that bad out in Italy! The kids liked the hot chocolate however and the waitress tried hard to be pleasant in bad circumstances.
After two days in this horror I complained to the front desk who told me that we had the option of breakfast in our suite and that I should have been told that at check in (I wasn't). The same packaged toasts and croissants were delivered but they tasted much better in our nicer surroundings.
The rooms were lovely. Our 2nd floor suite was beautifully furnished. It had 2 lovely bathrooms, a king sized bed in a nice MBR and a large pull out sofa for 2 kids to share. This might be a problem with older, bigger kids or boy/girl teenage siblings but it was fine for us. We had a great street view from the living room but the air conditioning and sound proofing were excellent. And the location was ideal - about 50 steps from San Marco. This was very important with temperatures in the high 90s as we would go out for a couple of hours and then go back and cool down for a couple of hours. We never had to investigate public restrooms either. The kitchen would not be adequate for cooking dinner (no oven, small hot plate) but it was great for breakfast and lunch.
The housekeeping standards were high but there were a few annoyances at this price point. The living room had beautiful light fixtures and eight (out of twelve) burned out light bulbs. We couldn't receive CNN or any other English language channels (as advertised) on the satellite TV but there seemed to be all day porn in several languages. There weren't enough cups in the kitchen. There was no iron or coffee maker. And the front desk and the manager seemed quite indifferent to guests' concerns.
If you are happy to rent an apartment and don't need any hotel type facilities this would be a fine choice for you. But if you think you might like a front desk that could advise you on restaurants or give youu directions etc., go somewhere else.
