We had a fantastic week at the Angelas hotel last year. I did have some e-mail correspondence with the hotel before we arrived, and we actually got their honeymoon suite (upgraded) which was a lovely room!
We pent most of our days at the quiet poolside, ate good lunch and just enjoyed ourselves. The dinner in our rate was great when we had been out for a day, and could?nt bother to go out to a restaurant.
The service was impeccable! Very friendly to be greeks ;)
Sissy is a quiet place, which we liked. Not much to do here, but rent a car. Very easy to drive around, and there is free parkingspace close to the hotel.

As a female travelling alone, I always choose 5 star hotels . that's why i chose Angela Suites when i visited Crete. I always want to stay in comfort and stylish hotels and of course feel safe as i am a single traveller. Angela Suites was indeed a modern and sytlish hotel. My room was excellent and i really don't understand why so much noise about cleaning. My room was tide up every day and i had clean sheets, towels, etc. without complaining to hotel manager or reception. I stayed there from mid to the end October (not high season). Personnel was very friendly and helpful, which was very important for me. I felt very comfortable although I was alone. DVD, etc. was working properly, pools were perfect and cleaned every night (very important)!I always had breakfast in my room nad the service was excellent. never needed to remind them my request.i haven't tried the restaurant but the sauna, gym and spa facilities was also great after spending many hours out of the hotel trying to explore Crete (never ends!!)
i would recommend this hotel with no doubt! I will be there again, maybe September this time.

After seeing the pictures on Lastminute.com myself and my wife thought that the Angela suite was too go to be true. After looking at the then few reports posted on trip advisor (two to be exact one was positive one was not).
We took the plunge and one month before booked the studio which one of the two options available through last minute. We assumed from the pictures that a studio would present a luxury standard just as the deluxe versions. After all it a five star...you wouldn’t think any less.
We arrived early in the morning and were whisked to our apartment. Initially from the outside you would think quaint and traditional, but modern inside. We were absolutely flabbergasted at the sub standard room we were provided. It reminded me of when I used to have self catering apartments when I was 20. Shocking are the words to describe what we saw. Old, archaic and not fit to have a label of 2 star let alone 5 star. Additional charges for the safe and for air conditioning added insult to injury. We were staying for 2 weeks so you can imagine how much you would end up paying.
The hotel accommodation was split over two sites. When speaking to other holiday makers it was apparent that there was a rich poor divide. (Maybe that’s where the Big Brother producers got the idea from). It was apparent that the accommodation on the main site was true to the pictures on the website, but the other side was a different thing altogether.
The main site had all the facilities that you would expect of a modern hotel. Nice pool nice surroundings. but some of the facilities were non operational such as the spa. The gym (if you can call it that) was minute and was never used from my reckoning.
Staff were pleasant at times and overstaffed. The waiter at dinner time was always rushing around. You could help but feel sorry for him. He alone provided a service which would not be out of place of a true 5 star hotel. (True 5 star hotels please note, this guy would be an asset to your establishment)
I was astonished to see that the kitchen staff smoked in the kitchen in between service and never even tried to hide the fact.
The food was nice, but no way 5 star. I have eaten in 5 star in London. You know the difference. You would only grade the food 2 star at least. Myself and the wife did eat out a few times and found that the restaurants in the harbor were very reasonable. But If you want to spoil yourself and you have a hire car, a trip to Agios Nikolaos is worth it.
Overall, the trip was an eye opener to the deceptiveness of some hoteliers out there. Travel companies should come down hard on hotels to present themselves in a truer light. It was plain to see that the cliental which attended the Angela Suite were affluent so it was obvious that they were used to and expected 5 star accommodation and food. It was more to the fact that the hotel expected less affluent people to come on holiday and to be mesmerized by the sugar coated offering Angela suite and being grateful for it.

Certainly not UK 5 star but clean and perfectly adequate. Could do with a larger smarter dinning area.
Best to eat early as the buffet dinner tends to be stripped of the best dishes if you are late and they aren't replaced.
Good value and well situated just a pleasant short walk from Sissi with plenty of alternative eating and drinking establishments there.
Snorkelman very entertaining at the hotel, and could Paul and Elaine please contact us from a different e-mail address as the one used refuses to accept replies.

We have recently returned from a week's holiday at the angela boutique hotel and have to say we think a lot of the comments said in the reviews are unjustified. we had a wonderful holiday and apart from the extra expences i:e air con - safe etc. (which we were prepared for after reading other reviews before we went) we had no major complaints. Our room was cleaned daily and towels replaced every day.We thought the food was average but still nice, Although we did eat out more than we ate at the hotel even though we had paid for half board, This was due to the fact we found the atmosphere quite souless (no one seemed relaxed and it was always very quiet) Sissi port itself was beautiful and only 5mins walk,it was also full of atmosphere. The restaurants were very welcoming served good food which was a lot cheaper then the hotel prices. The beaches were OK but not sandy (only one sandy beach which was a private beach that you had to waik over rocks to get to which many people did!!) All in all the hotel was lovely and as stated we personally had no major complaints, However we do feel the management of the hotel do need to listen and take on board the feedback they are getting from guest's, make some changes, scrap the extra charges for things that should be included in the price of the holiday, more friendly staff and we're sure that the hotel will be a success for many years to come
What people do have to remember is 5" hotels in greece are NOT the same as 5" in the UK so do not expect it.
