I go to Paris once a year with my Mother to the Roland Garros Tennis tournament. We chose this hotel this year because it's close to the stadium and we just need a place to rest our heads.
On arrival we had to stand in the lobby for 15 minutes before anybody came. This was at 5pm Paris time and no one was around to welcome us or check us in.
Finally a lovely man arrived with great English (even though I made sure to attempt to speak French first!) He more than made up for the wait to be honest. He was pleasant, friendly and eager to chat.
I have to say I thought the winding stairs was lovely walking up around the tiny old fashioned elevator, which i thought was a nice antique touch to an old Parisian hotel.
The room was basic. I didn't exactly pay a lot of money to stay there so i didn't expect much else. Twin beds. Clean sheets. Clean towels. Nothing else to say.
The shower was fine too.
Overall, it stood me well because I got up every morning, had the simple breakfast of coffee and croissant and spent the day at the tennis only returning at midnight to sleep.
I'd recommend it for the tennis but for Paris itself it's a bit out of the way.

Like one of the other reviewers, we booked first and then read the rather unfavourable reviews afterwards (not always a good idea). Fearing the worse, we were pleasantly surprised to find an adequate warm and cosy hotel. Given that the weather in Paris was rather cold, our room made a welcome retreat. Continental breakfast coffee and orange juice in the morning were perfectly alright.
very, very budget hotel

Definitely a budget hotel. Single ancient lift was not working so we had to carry luggage up four flights of dark, twisty stairs with no offer of help from hotel staff, just a throw away line that "maybe lift will be working later"!!. What a welcome !! Room very small, bathroom nearly clean, but heating on all night long so very hot and ancient pipes banging all night so no sleep. Not badly situated, could catch bus outside for ride along Seine and in towards louvre etc. Breakfast the usual one expects but not very generous and was given one croissant, one piece of french bread, one sachet of jam, one little butter, so no chance of having more than your fair share!! All in all you got what you paid for but have stayed in nicer hotel for same price!
