This hotel is gorgeous and loaded with amenties! Located inside a beautiful garden setting, it is just one mile from Centro Storico. The breakfast was excellent with lots of variety! The beautiful pool was clean and refreshing. The room and bathroom were huge, elegant and spotless. The staff was gracious and helpful! They also offered free and easy parking. We had dinner one night in their restaurant. (reviewed separately). Our only small complaint was, again, inadequate AC; the unit was too small for size of room (temps were in the 100s F). By this time, our 3rd week in Italy, we'd realized and accepted that this is a problem everywhere in Italy.

Only stayed here for one night, and thought it was very nice. One of the other posters mentioned that the pool and garden was filled with noise and diesel fumes from the road, but we didn't notice any of that. We only spent one afternoon poolside, and I thought it was very serene and relaxing. Althought the pool was a bit cold for my taste.
The rooms and bathrooms were very nice and spacious. The only meal we ate there was breakfast, which I was was comparable to the other hotel breakfasts we had on the trip. And the dining room was quite lovely.
We arrived at the Villa Patrizia by car, and didn't have any problems finding it, but the place kinda jumps out at you, so if you're going fast, I see how it can be possible to miss the turn. The Villa Patrizia is located a ways from the campo and the older historic part of Seina, but we knew this when we booked the hotel, and had the staff call us a cab when we wanted to go into town. The cab arrived in just a few minutes, and took us as close as he could get to the Campo. He also showed us a taxi stand we could use to get back.
Overall, I thought it was a great place to stay.

The Villa Patrizia is situated on an extremely busy main road right by two major road junctions. The gardens and pool area are disturbed by the constant noise of heavy traffic and by the smell of diesel and other traffic fumes. The hotel website claims the hotel is ”a heaven of greenery and peacefulness just outside the gates of Siena.” This is utter rubbish and untrue. My wife and I stayed at the Patrizia intending to spend several days quietly relaxing round the pool. This was out of the question as the pool area is so close to the main road and is blighted by traffic noise and air pollution. The website also claims: ”Villa Patrizia is famous for its peaceful and traditional setting as well as for the excellent and friendly service which it extends to its guests”. This is also drivel. The breakfasts are the absolute minimum, extremely poor selection, and certainly not up to four-star standard. Knowing this we tried to avoid eating in the hotel restaurant. However on the second evening we tried to leave the hotel on foot for a dinner in town but were driven back by the intensity of the traffic on the main road, and were frightened to cross the road in the dark. Reluctantly we went to the hotel restaurant and had what was our worst restaurant meal for the year 2006 (and we eat out a great deal all over Europe). Large dead fly and dirty paper handkerchief on the chair I was given, the main course we wanted was unavailable, the food finally served was unpalatable. The service was very far from that claimed on the website. Villa Patrizia is also a long hilly walk from Il Campo in Siena along busy roads, and many may find it strenuous. As sitting by the grimy-edged pool was completely out we rented a car to tour the countryside. Driving out through the hotel gates was hazardous because of obscured visibility and the fast and incessant traffic. Under no circumstances would I recommend a stay at the Villa Patrizia.

Evitate Villa Patrizia!
