I?ve stayed in Rio at Caesar Park at Ipanema beach...Memorable days!!! Extraordinary Food and perfect services, the staff was very cozy and the view from the swimming pool area at the rooftop is splendid. At least I thought the swimming pool would be a little bit bigger.

Stayed here on my honeymoon initially for four nights before sightseeing around Brazil and then returned for a further 5 nights. Had a plesant experience and found the hotel to be adequate for the price. The staff were excellent and on both occasions got very nice rooms with ocean views. The location is ideal, hotel cleanliness great, breakfast was included and there was a great choice, bed comfort good, beach staff and service nice, Gym facilities free and lovely. All over a good experience. Some negatives to be aware of include small pool, high charges for lunch and dinner, avoid use of hotel cars (yellow taxi's half the price). Although pricey I still felt we got good value for money. Tip if you want the best ocean views ask for a room ending in 5 ie. 905, 1405, 2205, etc.

Based on the reviews here, I was a bit concerned that the rooms in this hotel might be dated or that the service might be sub-par. However, the rooms were fine, as was the service (particularly at check-in, when reception arranged for us to get our room early). On the other hand, as other posters have pointed out, the charges that the hotel makes for "miscellaneous" items are astronomical. These can be largely avoided if you don't purchase the items in question but, even so, they are so high as to be insulting. Try $43 for an umbrella that has a tag warning you in very small type that if you have opened it, you have bought it. Also, we booked our room via Amex, and were supposed to get a free continental breakfast each day. However, because we ordered this through room service (because we have a baby), we were charged for this. I would have fought this but sensed that I wouldn't get anywhere, so didn't bother. All in all, this place is a very mixed bag. The location is great, and the rooms and service are fine, but the other things leave you with less than a good feeling.
