Whats all the fuss

I was really worried going to this hotel after all the reviews. We stayed for 5 days last week. We were put on the 6th Floor and thank goodness had air conditioning as it was hotter than I expected. They were working on the hotel painting, putting in air conditioning etc but as we were out most of the day this did not bother us. Reception was fine and the room although small had tea and coffee, shampoos, hair dryer and was clean and tidy although not alot of closet space. The breakfast was very good plenty for our needs. It was in a quiet area and near to the metro and was full for most of our stay but we did not have any problems with rowdy visitors even though there were plenty of iron maiden fans staying there for the concert. I could not see what all the fuss was about in earlier reviews the hotel was fine suited our needs and I could not find anything to complain about. Perhaps we were just lucky.
Right on the money

The hotel is clean, the staff is very friendly and fluent in English. The location is convenient (the subway and bus stop are couple of minutes walking, several restaurants, Bercy Village, ATMs are around the corner). This is economy type of establishment, so expect a modest clean, and small room. For tourist swho would rather spend more time in Paris by sightseeing, doing the excursions, this would be a good place to stay. The hotel also has a restaurant that serves buffet breakfast, a la cart lunch and dinner.

Well this hotel certainly has mixed reviews. We stayed there for 3 days in mid May and found it absolutely appalling! While it is obvious that there is a lot of refurbishment going on, it was extremely disappointing to stay in a reasonably modern hotel which had no airconditioning! We had a room on the 4th floor and there were workmen and wires everywhere attempting to install air con. The temp in Paris during our stay was 25-28C and the only recourse of a night was to leave the window open - great as it meant that we heard all of the train noise from nearby rail lines and Gare de Lyon! Staff were unhelpful with even basic requests such as using the internet etc. On a brighter note, the location is great with Bercy Village only a couple of minutes walk. Would I stay here again? No way Jose - not even if it was the last hotel in Paris!!!

I stayed in the Kyriad in Bercy Village in April 2008. A few days before I left, two very negative reviews had been added so I was pretty scared about what I was going to find. On arrival, I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel lobby looks nice, and check in was painless and only took a couple of minutes.
The corridors are not so nice though, it must be said. There are wires hanging from them, which is a little offputting.
Our room was, as anticipated, very small, but hey, we were paying for a budget hotel in Paris, we didn't expect anything more! The room was clean and nice enough. My stay only lasted a few days, sand I wouldn't really recommend a lengthy stay here, just because there's not enough room to unpack your case if you have a lot of stuff!
The hotel is right next to the Cour St Emilion metro stop, and Bercy Village is a lovely little place, perfect for meals (and cocktails!).
Overall, the place was more than decent, considering the price we'd paid, and I'd be happy to stay there again.

This hotel is ok. Generally the price of the hotels in Paris close to main attractions is high. There's a very good metro system in Paris, so as long as the area is not bad, it's always convenient to stay in a hotel which is close to metro station.
This hotel is close to metro station, it's only a 5 minute walk . The cute Cours saint emillion, with sone restaurants and bars just few steps , it's also convenient for those who will have to catch a train at Gare de Lyon.
Hotel has a good and large entrance , good lobby , bigger when compared to other parisian hotels. The hotel rooms are very small as like the most hotels in Paris. It's not easy to move within the room, the batroom is small too.
we may consider staying in this hotel too for its location, it's convenient for us and it's good price, it's closer to orly airport rather than charles de gaulle. Conclusion, budget hotel in Paris, if you want to explore Paris and go there for sleep , it's ok ...
