We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights last week. I found it to be above my expectations. The rooms were large and had been recently refurbished with free water and small chocolates each day plus clean towels and shampoo etc... They also have a complementary safe and fridge which does have the usual contents for a mini bar but they could be removed overnight to keep water cool for use the next day.
The pool was great and with towels supplied by the hotel although these had to be obtained from the life guard as room towels were not allowed. The pool bar was also good for lunch time snacks however the prices were a bit expensive especially for drinks.
Breakfast was very good i would recommend to save money only getting the 9 euro one as it includes everything but the eggs, bacon and sausages (hot food).
Staff at the hotel were friendly, informative and spoke good english. When we arrived they explained the bus services and where to get the metro to the town if we did not want to use the complementary shuttle. The metro and bus tickets are only 1 euro for 75 minutes of travel including one metro journey which is an inexpensive way to get around Rome and the bus stop was right outside the hotel.
If you did not want to eat in the hotel or travel all the way out to the centre of Rome there is a place just outside the hotel which serves good food at reasonable prices it may seem a little quiet until about 7.30 ish so unless you want to be one of the only two tables it is better to wait a bit.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone who would like a break away but maybe not sightseeing all holiday as it may be better to stay somewhere a bit closer.

I was on a business trip last week and stayed in the hotel. The outdoor pool was great. However I was disappointed in the gym as it had no air conditioning and since Rome is already hot and humid, working out was a major challenge. More disappointing however was the attitude of the spa staff. They did not speak English and were not at all client oriented. They did not seem very interested in my business or in responding to my basic requests. I had reserved two spa treatments. I cancelled the second and almost didn't pay for the first since it did not meet even the minimum standard that I would expect from a spa in a major hotel in an international city. I would think twice before staying there, even if they do have a shuttle bus into town.

The hotel was nice, clean...the rooms were great with a balcony! The pool was nice and clean. A bit away from the centre of Rome (over the opposite side of the Vatican) but with a free bus to and from the centre we couldn't complain.
We had a problem when booking in, the room wasn't ready but we did get there for 12 and you can't go to the room until 2...but when we waited for the concierge to take our luggage to a storage room we had to wait for 45 minutes!! This was a bad start to the holiday...then we went for food in the restaurant...i asked for a PLAIN burger (as im fussy), i repeated PLAIN 2 or 3 times, the girl said 'it has salad and mayo', i said i dont want them...when it came it had it all on so i asked for the bun to be changed...it was changed but by then i was eating a cold burger!!
Luckily the hotel services got better from there in...you get 2 complimentary bottles of water in your room everyday which is nice, towels changed daily too and a free safe! Breakfast in the hotel cost 18 euros but it was worth it as the breakfast is very very nice, cooked and non-cooked!
Overall a pretty decent hotel.

Spent a week here and thought the hotel was a good example of other Crowne Plazas I've stayed in. The room was a large standard one with two double beds and a (smallish) bathroom / toliet, well-furnished (eg LCD TV, additional seats, desk), safe for valuables (no additional charge) and fridge. There was a small balcony - great for early morning coffee. Air conditioning was generally good (but would have been nice if it went slightly cooler, since there was a heatwave when I was there - mid-30s every day). Ice machines were available on every floor. The maids always prepared the room very well each day and there were no problems getting extra bottles of water or towels from them at any time. The pool area was large and very clean with a lifeguard always present to help out with things like sun loungers and moving parasols around. Kids were allowed into the pool (some have reported that under-16s not allowed - not true). (I did not use the indoor pool so can't comment on that). The staff were very courteous and helpful (and patient with some of the tourists who asked some incredibly dumb questions in my opinion). There were some good floodlit tennis courts as well. The hotel is on a busy road (but set back in its own gardens) and there was a restaurant (Arturo's) next door with some shops about 1/2 mile to the left (cross the road near the restaurant for these as the path by the hotel is quite narrow and Italian drivers are a little mad). A shuttle bus (free) made the 15 min trip into the centre of Rome and back again about 6 times a day (last trip back from Rome was at 10:15pm). The bus was always on time and was an excellent service in general. Costs for drinks etc... were expensive - in keeping with Rome in general. The weak exchange rate made this seem even worse - so I purchased wine and beer from nearby shops and kept these in the fridge - problem solved. There was a good bus service from right outside the hotel and Ii used this to visit the Vatican (10 mins away by bus). Reception sold bus tickets and helped with bus timetables. I can't understand some of the poor comments here regarding this hotel (especially since they're more about location and exchange rates). I thought it was very clean and well-appointed. Don't be put off by it not being in the City Centre - the minimal effort to walk onto the shuttle bus and be in Rome 15 mins later is not exactly hard to do. In some respects it was good to get away from the hustle and bustle of the noisy city at the end of a day.

Hotel had many American-style amenities (large room and bathroom, flat screen TV with satellite). It was a great place to spend our last night in Rome - the shuttle bus from the town center was easy to catch to take out to the hotel. Note that the hotel is not within walking distance to any of the major sites, but there are many city buses that you can catch practically at the hotel entrance. There is also a free shuttle bus to the FCO airport - it only makes one trip in the morning, but it was very convenient!
